There have been complaints of poor sound quality, feedback and discomfort. Luckily for us there are numerous solid 3rd party choices. One of those is the Gamecom X30 (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11087) from Plantronics. Plantronics has released another headset to the Gamecom lineup, this time slightly cheaper, with the Gamecom X20.<br><br><br><tr><td>The X20 is an in ear design. Unlike the X30 the X20 uses a small rubber clip to hold the headset in your ear. Think of it like a clip on earring. It's a bit uncomfortable at first, but after a while you'll hardly notice it's there. The headset also contains a short swivel microphone. Overall the headset is a lightweight compact design. You'll feel like a secret service agent or SEAL team member while wearing it.<br><br></td><td colspan="2">http://www.evilavatar.com/images/reviews/x20/thumb.x20.jpg (http://www.evilavatar.com/images/reviews/image.php?image=www.evilavatar.com/images/reviews/x20/x20.jpg)</td></tr><tr><td colspan="3">Plantronics once again went with a 90 degree connector and a slightly shorter cable. By having the 90 degree connector it's much harder to accidentally pull the headset out of the controller. For anyone that uses the regular Microsoft headset you'll know this is one of the main problems with it.<br><br>The volume control/mute is identical to the X30's. It carries almost no weight and has a nice little clip on the back that you can clip on your body. By doing this the cord remains flush against your body and remains out of the way while playing. <br><br>Audio quality is on par with the X30. Voices were much clearer and the background hiss from the regular headset was gone. Again I did some blind tests with users. Most found the X30 to be the better headset when compared to the X20, but the X20 was still preferred over the original headset. From my standpoint the voices sounded identical through the X20 and X30 headset. <br><br>Conclusion <br><br>At $19.99 the X20 is the same retail price of the original Xbox 360 headset and $10 less than the X30. I'd still recommend the X30 over the X20 because the X30 is simply more comfortable. If you need to buy a new headset and the choice is between the Xbox 360 and the X20, pick the X20. <br><br></td></tr><tr><td>The Good:<br>- Lightweight<br>- Excellent Audio quality<br>- No feedback<br><br>The Bad: <br> - Rubber clip on earing thinger<br><br>The Ugly: <br>- Neighbors might think you are in the Secret Service. <br></td><td>Score:<br>http://www.evilavatar.com/images/icons/e4.jpg<br>4 out of 5 Evil Eyes</td><td>&nbsp;</td></tr></table>

Is the X30 worth twice the price of the X20, or is one of those "If you can afford it, buy the better one" things?

Edit: Nvm...it seems you can get the X30 for $30 or less.

I had one of these for the original xbox. it was F'n awesome. The Live 360 headet is terrible, imo, even worse than the old Xbox one. I'll be picking this up asap.

But you already have an x30! Send me that! :p

I should probably buy a new headset soon.

I've honestly not had any trouble with the 360 headset... I think it is comfortable, and sounds just fine. My only complaint is that it gets tangled up in my hair when it is pulled back into a ponytail.

Have you thought of doing the Pippy Longstalkings look? That may fix your problem :)
