Starting their Pre-E3 coverage, uk.IGN has posted an article with the first details (http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/986/986415p1.html) on Disney Interactive and Propaganda Games upcomiong PC, Xbox and PS3 RPG, Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned.

IGN: Though not an RPG, clearly Sid Meier's Pirates! is the best pirate game ever made. How would you compare your RPG to some of the elements seen in Sid Meier's game?

Alex Peters: I think that Sid Meier's Pirates is great. Similarly, we want to make sure our game creates a sense a freedom in how you decide to live your pirate life. We are trying to make experiences in the Caribbean similar to those featured in the movies so you can expect to see some supernatural elements mixed in with realism.

IGN: Is the bulk of the game on sea or are there significant portions of exploration on land?

Alex Peters: The exploration will be a mixture of both land and sea and it's up to the player to choose how much time they spend in each.

this is not an MMO.

They already have a PotC MMO, don't they? I'm pretty sure this is a single-player game.

this is not an MMO.

Thanks. Fixed. What is the point then? There is a much better pirate RPG coming out.

Neat. I always liked Sid Meier's Pirates!, so hopefully this one has some good improvements and additions to that sort of game.

Wasn't there already a PotC RPG, albeit one that was barely connected to the movies?

Oh well. It'll be nice to play a pirate-themed game that wasn't made by Russians for a change. :p

Finally, a good pirate game (besides Sid Meier's Pirates!)

Hopefully this will be a better pirate game than that crap Pirates of the Caribbean for the original Xbox.

Is it just me or does that pirate in the right screencap look like Noel from The Mighty Boosh?

"All he needs now is a tall northern jazzy freak with a moustache and no dress sense."
