Combat and Player Interaction
Hearthstone's combat works exactly like what new Magic players sometimes think how combat in Magic works. Minions directly attack minions, or can attack the player. This makes for many decisions when the board is even a little cluttered. Players need to know how to spend their cards most effectively. Trading minion for minion is a very common occurrence in the game, which means that very often the board ends up being empty multiple times in a game....

I remember being very excited about Hearthstone. Even before I got my beta key, I just kept hearing amazing things about the game and how much fun it is. Typical Blizzard fan hype, for the most part. But I was really excited about the idea of a card game actually being "hip" to play.
For those of you that don't know (aka everybody), I am a lifelong player/fanatic of Magic: The Gathering. I personally consider it the single best game of all time, though I'm sure a lot of...

I'm no old school PC junkie (I wish I was though. I might spend my Christmas break playing Tribes 2 and UT2004), but in the time I've owned my own computer and played games, I've had a chance to play with a handful of mice. I've always been one to research stuff that I don't know much about before I make the purchase, so I've never had an actual bad mouse or anything. But with my brother getting a little more into PC gaming now that he has a capable machine, and with my friend getting ready to buy...

I got my Hearthstone beta key just before Thanksgiving. My brother in law apparently has been sitting on one for a month or two, so I was quick to point out that they were selling online for quite a bit, and he just frowned.
I got about 100 games in over the break, since I didn't really want to play Tribes on my parent's mediocre internet. So while I don't really have a real opinion on the power level of certain strategies or anything, I have a good grasp of the game's mechanics....
