Got my order in for The Sinking City. I didn't realize it was coming out this soon.

I've seen some trailers for Sinking Cities. Still a little on the fence. It looks really narrative heavy which I like.

It amazes me how much mileage they are making off Hollow Knight. Another fricking release... this crap game is over 2 years old now.

It's just another Frogwares Sherlock Holmes game disguised as a Cthulu game. Pure cash grab. Nothing to see here, move along. These devs know we will eat up anything Lovecraft.

Underworld Ascensdant is also out, spiritual successor to Ultima Underworld from some of the same devs. Far more interesting. But of course not worth of mention since there's no make web cash link available.

I build the list from Best Buy, not Amazon. If there isnít a boxed version I canít see it.

Same here.

Picked it up at Best Buy. Got it for 20% off due to the Gamer's Club they used to let you sign up for plus you also get a $10 E-Gift Card with purchase. Not a bad deal at all that way.

I snagged a PS4 copy of Bloodstained last week, so the only thing on my radar now is Super Mario Maker 2. I'm debating on whether or not to grab a physical copy or just get the digital version for sake of convenience. I've been playing the hell out of Octopath Traveler and I hate swapping game cards even more than I hate swapping discs. It's not bad when I've got it out of the dock...but when it's docked, I hate friggin' around with that little flap and popping the card out.

It's a minor quibble based entirely around laziness, I know.

I always liked those little carts. I’m surprised that as big as games have been getting that neither Sony or Microsoft decided to go with some kind of a cart instead of a disc. It would be faster and could hold more data.

I guess you just can’t beat how cheap the discs are to manufacture though.

I suspect the other reason they don’t use some kind of alternate physical media is that we know MS is still thinking that digital-download-only is still going to be their future.

I don't mind the cards themselves - they're very compact and the cases are equally as compact - but I just hate swapping 'em. Part of it is definitely because of my setup; I have the Switch on the middle shelf of my entertainment stand and due to the space in said shelf, I kinda have to tip the dock forward to get to the card slot. After that, I'm frigging with the flap, swapping cards, etc..

I'm kinda over physical media, but I also like having physical copies of the games I buy.

Carts generally end up being able to hold less for more cost/per GB. Plus the form factor is usually hard to deal with and a lot more fragile and prone to loss.

Didn't mean to be an ass, I know you need to link support. :D Speaking of which, where is my promised Evil Avatar patch?? I need it before PAX in September. :D

ElektroDragon 06-26-2019 01:24 PM

The only reason I buy physical media anymore is if its cheaper. The ONLY reason. I'd probably be happy with a program that lets me trade in all my physical discs for digital copies. Mainly this has to do with being able to play the same game on two consoles in the house without buying it twice. I'm really over collecting shit (sorry MJ!). Not enough room. No matter HOW far ahead I get in life I can never seem to buy a house BIG enough, with a dedicated game room or basement. Sigh. Even 2500 sqft is NOT big enough for my gaming/collecting lifestyle with 2 kids. I don't know how you collectors do it. You must all live in 3000sqft+ mansions or have fancy powered barns.

Picked up Judgment (PS4) yesterday and plan on actually playing it tonight. Super Neptunia RPG and Bloodstained are on my deep discount wish list for PC. I like, but don't love, those kind of games, so I do not spend retail on them.

I'm behind on mailing out because I was out of stamps. I've got them now so I'll get them out this week and I'm going to go back to the list of people who wanted one and pick 5 more (as promised).

I've got both stamps and envelopes now, so I think I'm out of excuses. :o
