Instant Pre-Order. I would love the individual packs, but I guess I'll have to go for the combo box.

I'm still tempted to order the individual boxes to get all the pins.

No PC edition collectors pack. For games that were designed with a PC interface. Kinda leaving money on the table there, doesn't make much sense.

Terran 06-27-2019 08:19 PM

The enhanced versions are available on the PC, just not the fancy trinkets. I think they're rightly projecting that the PC market for these games isn't as potentially large as elsewhere. They've been available for ages on PC and if you wanted an enhanced edition to add to your regular editions, you probably have it already.

I played these recently. The original Baldur's Gate hasn't aged as well, but Baldur's Gate II and Icewind Dale are still great. I'll pick these up as well.

Butt kicking for goodness!

That's not surprising about not aging well, the Infinity Engine felt kinda "dated" even then.

How is this even possible??! On xbox?!?! Omg i came!

ElektroDragon 06-27-2019 11:18 PM

Wow, that was hard to watch. After about one minute of this fake interview, all I could think about was this old Penny Arcade comic:

I mean... I get that this is an advert, but really? You need to sit there with your mouth open for five seconds because it's "sooo amazing" to play a 20-years old game with a controller now???

Mad Max RW 06-28-2019 04:47 AM

Planescape Torment puts the rest of the collection to shame.

It's not complete without Icewind Dale 2.

These games are on Steam Summer sale for $5.00 each right now.

It's interesting to see them repackage 20 year old games for hundreds of dollars.

I want NWN 2.. but with a less spastic camera.

I would highly recommend you stay away from the Nintendo Switch e-shop, then. :)

These are great games but I played them. If you want something to hold you over till Baldur's gate 3, play Divinity Original Sin 2. It is an RPG masterpiece. The company that will be making BG 3 made Original Sin 2. They were chosen for a reason.

Dark Sun is seriously overlooked. That could be turned into an amazing video game, movie, HBO TV series, etc. I by far loved it the best.

I agree, Dark Sun was a great game and a great setting. I'll never forget the character creation instructions to make 5 characters for each player at he beginning of a campaign because it was so lethal :)

As for this Beamdog thing, I am ordering the Super edition for the switch. I would love to have this on a portable device.

ElektroDragon 06-28-2019 02:21 PM

I bought it because I never finished any of these games, and some I never played at all (Icewind, Torment, BG2) and I'm a sucker for old PC games on console. This is going to be HELL on my OLED though. Ugh! That's OK though, because I will probably play each game for at most an hour then put them back on my shelf never to be used again. Story of my life. It's called disposable income for a reason, I guess?
