F9 - Official Trailer

No matter how fast you are, no one outruns their past.

In Theaters May 22nd

That looks monumentally bad. Hollywood can't even make good car chase movies any more.

CitizenZero 02-01-2020 08:20 AM

These films don't even remotely resemble reality anymore. I'm more inclined to believe the MCU movies are possible, over this trite

I love car chase movies and I havenít seen most of this series. The second they switch to CGI cars I totally lost interest in the series.

I donít mind if they do stunts that are totally impossible in real life, but the least they can do is use real cars for those stunts! They can do rigging like the motorcycle jump in Terminator 2 and lots of other film tricks, but for godís sake use real fíing people driving real fíing cars.

However, my opinion seems to have zero impact on their ability to make giant mountains of cash... so I guess they are doing something right.

Yeah, I don't doubt this will make a ton of money. I love car movies, car chases etc., but these are now comic book car movies. To far gone for me. The car scenes in Ford v Ferrari are more my style.

I loved Fast 5 as it was Oceans 47 with 'tricked out' cars. (Whatever that means). Then, it all started to get a little silly.

The Trailer made me laugh.

-The Rock is scary.
-Jason Statham is scary.
-Idris Elba is scary.

John Cena did not look scary.

There's a chance that it'll be a great film. Possibly.

That looked....absurd. Just, ridiculous. In a really bad way. No thanks.

Let's see world wide receipts:

The Fast and the Furious: $207,284,863
2 Fast 2 Furious: $236,350,661
Tokyo Drift: $158,964,610 (the weakest $$)
Fast & Furious: $360,364,265
Fast Five: $626,137,675
Fast & Furious 6: $788,679,850
Furious 7: $1,515,047,671 (Yes, BILLION)
The Fate of the Furious: $1,236,005,118 (again...BILLION)

I think this one will do just fine ;)

.....yeah, there will be a 10th one. Yippie. What bugs me is how much people complain about the mindless popcorn movies made by Michael Bay, but this series is unstoppable. A prerequisite for watching a FF movie is to leave your brain at home in a jar.

I thought the Transformer movies cemented that fact a long time ago. :D

At this point, the Fast and the Furious is no different than really James Bond or like others said, Marvel Universe. Complete fiction, over the top and silly fun.

Maybe my tastes have change, or I'm just more jaded. I'm so burnt out on super hero movies, and mindless action.

I think the quality of the super hero movies has been steadily dropping as they ran out of steam and became more "corporate". When Marvel Studios was independent we got Iron Man & Winter Soldier. Under the Disney umbrella we got Captain Marvel and Avengers Endgame.

And now they are even letting go of the director of Doctor Strange? Doctor Strange wasn't a fantastic movie, but it's way above Captain Marvel and now that the origin story is out of the way there was some opportunity for some crazy 70's style Doctor Strange. Instead it sounds like we are going to get the Marvel version of CW's Crisis on Infinite Earths. Meh.

I still like mostly mindless action if it's done right. Hardcore Henry comes to mind as just a fantastic film that does something new.

I just think we are in kind of a Hollywood slump this season. We have lots of really bad remakes and lots of "safe" Disney versions of films.

It doesn't take Hollywood long to get the message though, a few more flops like Doctor Dolittle, Little Women and the upcoming Birds of Prey and they tend to shift gears to other genre's pretty quick.

Let's make a gentleman's bet.
How many time will he say something about "family"

Azzy 02-02-2020 11:00 PM

yuck yuck fucking yuck

this is the kind of movie you should be embarrassed to like. it's not "just fun", it's fucking horrible.

if you like these recent movies you have bad taste and the big green Monster sticker on the back of your Mustang proves it.

Gotta agree with this guy right here.
