Anthem Updates Put on Hold while BioWare Reboots Game

Quote:

BioWare’s Anthem launched to poor reception from both critics and players, and after a flurry of early updates, the extensive content additions promised in the game’s roadmap continued to get delayed – and the eventual releases didn’t improve Anthem’s reception. After reports that BioWare was planning a full reboot for the game, studio general manager Casey Hudson has confirmed exactly that.

Hudson says the studio has “heard your feedback that Anthem needs a more satisfying loot experience, better long-term progression and a more fulfilling end game. So we recognize that there’s still more fundamental work to be done to bring out the full potential of the experience, and it will require a more substantial reinvention than an update or expansion.”

Seasonal content updates will end, though events and previous content will continue to cycle through as BioWare works on the next iteration of Anthem. Hudson says BioWare aims to “reinvent the core gameplay loop with clear goals, motivating challenges and progression with meaningful rewards – while preserving the fun of flying and fighting in a vast science-fantasy setting.

“To do that properly we’ll be doing something we’d like to have done more of the first time around – giving a focused team the time to test and iterate, focusing on gameplay first.”
PCGamesN.

Idiots.

The gameplay isn't the problem. It's a fun game.

The problem with that game is the stupid drop in drop out of missions. Let me STAY in the world!

Don't bring me back to the dumb mission center (like Destiny).

Is this another reboot for this game? After which # reboot should I try the game out to have maximum fun?

I liked the gameplay. I didn't like the lack of content and the constant interruption of said gameplay.

Who the fuck are these people listening to that they think the gameplay is at fault rather than the 10 hours of campaign content and the uninspired hub system and the bullshit and meaningless grind for worthless upgrade weapons - to no end - for the endgame?

Yeah have to agree, the game play itself is fine, it's everything else that is terribly boring never mind the severe lack of actual content once you finish the campaign.

So the game I bought a year ago was basically a beta for them to learn from their mistakes. Got it, thanks.

Yeah, pretty much.

That said, I'd be down for giving it another try if they fix all the shit that drove me away from the game so quickly the first time around.

It worked for Final Fantasy XIV, it will NOT work for Anthem.
