Sword Of Secrets A.K.A. Tomb Of Doom - Development Update

I know it has been a few weeks sense the last update. First and foremost I'd like to say that the game is still in development. Spring and summer are my busiest time of the year when it comes to my real life job, so progress is, and will continue to be slow. That said, I've put out a hard date for a tech demo of the game.

The tech demo will allow the player to travel through eleven locations of the Tomb of Doom map. In the demo you will be able to collect weapons, armor, and a couple of other inventory items. On top of that you'll have two monsters to fight, and you'll get to check out my two word parser :)

I will also release a new video tutorial on how to download, and setup an emulator to play the game, or any other C-64 game that you may want to play.

Maybe a dumb question, but will there be instructions specific to playing on the C-64 mini?

I love that it‘s 2019 and we’re looking forward to a C64 game. I know people still develop for the system all of the time but this is the first time I’m personally looking forward to one of them.

Yes, I'll provide instructions for the mini as well.

Very proud of you, man. Is this something you'll be selling?

Thanks, and no I won't be charging a single cent for it.

We gotta figure out how to get it onto a cart!

You said there are 11 locations in the test, if you send me the locations I can start working on some descriptions.

I think it's going to be to big for a cart. I'm looking into getting it on disk. I think Commodore carts were limited to 16k of space. The demo right now is just over 5k, and that's without much in the way of descriptions, and other text.

A cart would be great for instant loading, and overall durability. I wish I could do a cart too!

I'll get back to you soon on the location info.
