I really want to like this. It's hard to tell from the trailer if it will have the right pacing and atmosphere to feel like a Blade Runner. No way to know until it comes out. I'm not seeing anything that bothers me in particular though.

For comparison, here's the original movie's trailer. Man, it's long. They've gotten so much better at making trailers too:

I dunno. I don't mind Ryan Gosling, I like Harrison Ford, but can't stand Leto.

The movie looks too action oriented, and less Noir like the original (which is why I think it was so good). I don't need spectacle in a Blade Runner movie. I'm cautiously pessimistic with this film.

You can easily cut a 2 minute trailer for the original Blade Runner to make it appear more action oriented. For all we know the little bit of action we've seen represented in the 2049 trailers is the sum total of what happens in the movie. The problem with Blade Runner is they don't know how to market it.

2049 really isn't that far away at this point... damn I'm old :(

The movie could be good. I'm cautiously optimistic!

This has all the signs of being a "mass appeal" trailer whereas the first was put out there early and crafted to get fans of the original excited.

That said some of dialogue has me nervous that this story may seem more vapid than the first. Epic in scale and cut off from the close personal dynamics of the original. I hope I am wrong, and that we get another great moment that can be held up alongside "tears in the rain."

They remove the mystery that was at the core of the original for one (which I hate them for) and they appear the have lost the intimacy of the first (which I also don't care much for).

I have concerns. But at least we know Gosling can play the no-emotion guy really well. The whole "they found you" strikes of a two bit cliche I don't know if I can take.

Right now I'm leaning toward my super dooper extended collectors edition (with and without the Harrison Ford voice over) rose colored glasses and taking a pass.
