Destiny 2 PC will not release at the same time as consoles!

Destiny 2 has been scheduled for release on September 8—but, as it turns out, that is only for the console versions of the game. The PC launch date, as Destiny 2 director Luke Smith told us at today's reveal event, hasn't actually been set.

"We're not committed to a PC date yet, but at Bungie we're totally committed to making a PC build as great as we can," Smith said. "Our partnership with Blizzard and being on Battle.net, we want to make sure that this version of the game has the time it needs to bake in the oven so it's a delicious piece of bread when it comes out."

Smith added he couldn't comment on how much of a delay the PC version would suffer, but said Bungie would try to provide a date "in the coming weeks."

Just when you thought Bungie were doing alright....

Well, crap. I hope they have a beta that doesn't require a pre-order...

Bungie is a shell of itself. That doesn't mean they're terrible, since a shell of the greatness they once held is better than the best many have to offer, but they're not what they were. The original Halo was an amazing atmospheric game with a score and set pieces that blew you away (and yes, some recycled assets/levels, like the library, which was very weak). How many titles have music so iconic that just hearing it brings you right back to the visceral feeling you had when you first played the game? A handful at most. Final Fantasy comes to mind, not many others. Halo 2 was truly groundbreaking in being the first console title to really build a successful online community and is a large part of what made Live successful in its earliest days, as well as part of what pushed Sony and Nintendo to drag themselves, kicking and screaming all the way, online with their own consoles.

They're not what they once were. Too bad, really. Their history in console gaming is really significant. No longer.

Fuck! We had this pegged as our next group game.

Would be great to play Destiny co-op on PC, but they know it would affect the console sales, so just for that reason I've lost interest.

I'm guessing it'll be out by October 13th. PC versions always seem to get delayed by a month, give or take.

Pc master race

In the middle of a raid and someones PC crashes because of crappy programming or bad drivers? No thank you. I stick with the lesser of the two evils and play on my PS4 pro. I'll leave my 1080 to my single player games.

Yeah, because console games never crash.

You just cancel it.

That's what I'm doing. Used my one amazon code on PC soooo if anyone wants to hook me up with a XB1 code that'd be sweet....

ashikenshin 05-19-2017 08:16 AM

I will pre-order since I'm going to buy it anyway (for the ps4.) Lots of my friends want to go back to Destiny and I want to play with them. The game might be crap but seems like the only type of game everyone seems to enjoy. My dreams of having everyone play FFXIV were destroyed.

This could be a good thing. Game comes out on consoles. Tons of vids on the game showing it off will be out in the wild. I will get to see gamers playing the game and talking about it. I get to see all the things I have questions about that Bungie has not really shown yet.

Then I make up my own mind to purchase game or not on PC.

ashikenshin 05-19-2017 08:25 AM

From the reveal it seems it's more of the same. Which for people who liked the first one isn't a bad thing. What I hope they resolved is their toolkit. From what I understand the tools they had for creating new content was very cumbersome. That's why it took a long while from dlc to dlc and the amount of content was not that much. If they are able to release a good amount of content in shorter time frames this could be a hit.

In the middle of a Raid and someone randomly D/Cs (but gets to stay on voice party cursing), or gets hit with error code: baboon (for those of us who raided King's Fall that was a pain) or the other myriad of errors the game had in it's lifetime.

There a ton of reasons to stay @ PS4, but random crashes ain't one of them.

shadow763 05-19-2017 09:27 AM

I am hoping it is not repetitive as shit is all. The grindy as fuck aspect of the first one was the big issue. Lack of content and getting anything good meant playing each piece a thousand times.

Sensei-X 05-19-2017 12:51 PM

Could it have anything to do with this?

We want to let everyone know that a new game will be appearing alongside your favorite Blizzard games—one that’s a little different from what you might normally expect. Bungie’s upcoming first-person action game Destiny 2 will be joining the party! We’re excited to announce that we're partnering with Bungie and Activision to support the PC version of Destiny 2 exclusively via Battle.net.

DeluxE 05-19-2017 03:16 PM

Here's hoping the XB1 version launches with Scorpio enhancements...

I expect 60 FPS with high detail settings and hi-rez textures!

MADxMrMike 05-20-2017 12:43 PM

4v4 pvp?? No dedicated servers?? Man... was NOT expecting that.
