Anyone else try out a 4K movie on a regular 1080p TV? I've got one 4K disc and I tried it in my Xbox One and it was super dark. It didn't look anything like it should have.

I got the Godzilla Criterion set, and it's a beauty.

Looks Amazing here. I have a 47 inch non 4k Samsung TV and play UHD Blu-rays throught my X all the time through it and they look incredible.

Something is amiss.

UHD will look better regardless of the screen you put it on simply because the video has been compressed with a more efficient video codec and has more overall bandwidth.

Look at something like YouTube. Play a video at your monitor's native resolution then choose one at a higher resolution (1440p, 2160p). Even though the video scales down to your monitor's resolution, the overall picture is substantially better because you are getting more bandwidth (Mbps)
