They do seem easier to get and you can turn in tokens to get purple engrams and use those to generate more gems for upgrading your weapons and armor.

The whole system seems a little smoother than the previous game.

I haven't looked around HQ enough after finishing the story to see if there is a wall that tracks all your Legendary's or not.

Yeah, though it slowed down once i got in the 260's. Remember too, the loot engine calculates drops based on your maximum possible light. That includes what isn't equipped and what's in the Vault. So you can afford to be efficient with your shard usage. I wouldn't infuse something unless it was a minimum 5 light upgrade. And legendary's only cost 1 shard when used for infusing.

I didn't notice something weird. While it says your maximum infusion for gear is over 300. I think the item level puts an unseen cap on that. I've had 2 pieces that I've upgraded from lvl 15 or 16 and after they got over 250 light i couldn't infuse anymore.

So, say at casual play time of 10-15 hours a week, will this last me a while. I'm only looking for PvE content.

Makes me sad you can beat the story in a day and a half. :(. I will still play it eventually. But sadness ensues.

What would you consider awhile?

You can expect the first DLC in about 3 months.

Is Destiny 2 light on content like the first game was? I loved the first one but there was nothing to do for like 2 years.

I almost bought it this morning but im not going to unless there is plenty to do. Screw this waiting for DLC crap...

Grr, stop this! Stop the milking...I swear to god i hope Nintendo buries you all..

Destiny 1 was a solid FPS that was bogged down not knowing what it ultimately was. They basically just took Halo and tacked on some clunky MMO grind. It didn't really work.

Destiny 2 is streamlined, loot-FPS bliss. It is more Halo-Diablo than Halo-WoW this go around. The open world is way better with a lot more to do. Almost too much. It is really hard to stay on track with all the shit that appears before you.

I have 2 qualms though:

The open world is so good that it basically is making endgame strikes completely useless.

They axed randomized loot stats so all guns are exactly the same. This will kill the endgame loot-grind meta since you don't need to bother min-maxing a perfect exotic.

I am really enjoying it though, and I highly recommend it. It is vastly superior to Destiny 1.

Things you can do in Destiny 2 (probably not all inclusive, just what I have discovered personally):
  • Similar to Destiny 1:
    • Strikes (regular and Nightfall)
    • Crucible
    • Patrols
    • Stumble upon roaming "named" mobs
    • random chest spawns
    • Public events (now pre-announced)
  • New Stuff:
    • Special Regional chests
    • Lost Sectors
    • Flashpoints
    • Milestones
    • Adventures
    • Quests
    • Challenges
    • Rerun story missions
    • Purchase treasure maps
Basically, there is still tons to do once the story ends. You can even do most of that during the story, which I did, which is why it took so long for me to finish the story.

Also, now that I have finished the story and caught up with the rest of you guys, I may start dropping in on some of you while you are playing.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! ALLOW RANDOM DROP-INS AT YOUR OWN RISK! OOPS caps!

I'm more than a little bummed that the story is so short, and what is worse that there are virtually no new enemies to fight anywhere in the mission. I did a Strike twice where you go after some huge Shrieker and that strike was a better mission than any of the single player missions.

That is kind of a huge problem.

I also felt that the final boss was shockingly easy to beat. They give you unlimited supers to beat him with so it is only a matter of wearing him down with your supers and staying alive in the meantime. I don't want it to be so difficult that it can not be done, but a little bit of variety wouldn't be bad either.

Destiny 2 has great co-op play, but 4 vs 4 PVP is terrible. Destiny 2 is not even in my top ten for PVP shooters I currently have installed.
