Weekend Gamer: What are you playing?

E3 over and lots of yawns it seems. Those games are not ready to be played yet, so what games are you playing this weekend?

Playing AC:Odyssey and really digging it. Always liked the AC games and others in the same genre, but this one really takes what Origins did well and built on it. Can see many-a-weekend to come with the same response here from me...

I merged the latest version of Project Brutality 3.0 with some other mods including the recent beta of Brutal Doom’s unreleased Extermination Day campaign and absolutely loving it. A couple weeks ago I tried the latest Brutal Doom and aside from a few quality of life improvements and other nicer additions it’s still nowhere near as advanced as Project Brutality.

I've reverted to The Witcher 3 with HD texture pack and all DLC. Played 400+ hours years ago, having fun playing Gwent again and seeing the beautifully rendered eyes of Gerralt's love interests and all the whores. :D
Such a beautiful game.

Skunks! Skunks!

I've been out camping in the woods for 3 nights and we were just run over by a family of skunks that would come right up to our camp sight every night as soon as it got dark. They were super cute, but totally stinky.

Lucky, no one got sprayed. They would run away whenever you shined a flashlight on them.

I tried to get a picture of the skunks but it doesn't look like my iPad has any flash.

I'm back today and I think I'll be playing some Days Gone and The Division 2 over the weekend. I got the retail version of The Division 2 right before we took off on vacation.

I keep wanting to start this one, but I've been putting it off because I've got Days Gone.

Mortal Kombat 11 - the new Shang Tsung DLC character is a lot of fun, and they started the Kombat League where you can unlock skins based on your online wins.

Bloodstained - been looking forward to this, and so far it has been a lot of fun.

Started Playing Batman Arkham Knight again, haven't played it since upgrading my PC with the 1080ti. Game is awesome of course, but looks insanely good maxed out.

I'll squeeze some PUBG in there somewhere as well.

3. For The King

4. Rocket League

5. Yakuza Kiwami 2

Just started Witcher 3. Never played it. I beat the first game, never the 2nd. Should I go back to 2?

Witcher 2 is the best introduction and depending on your choices in the completed saved game they carry over to Witcher 3. If you're really serious I actually recommend playing 2 first, reading all the books, then playing Witcher 3. The emotional bits hit so much harder. Or read through the books while playing.

Reinstalling 2.

I played a little bit of 3, then got stuck in some underground cavern right near the beginning of the game and gave up. I guess I need to go back and give it another shot.

I got one of the Witcher books on an Amazon daily sale a while back and it’s really good. Play wise I’ve been checking out Nioh that was on sale during the Days of Play. Pretty fun so far.

I got my new laptop (Alienware m51 with a desktop version of the 2070) but my hotel WiFi is ass so I'm stuck with Frostpunk and Ashes of Singularity Escalation; the only two games I've downloaded so far.

Frostpunk is very unforgiving. Not sure if I like it yet. On mobile I'm still playing Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes but recently picked up the Grinder "gotchu" games RAID: Shadow of Legends and Assassin's Creed: Rebellion, another gotchu game (with more cartoon-y graphics). They all play similar with the exception of a few systems. I like the character collection aspect and leveling but with as much as I've got into Star Wars, as well as being in a top guild, I suspect Raid and AC are going to be nothing more than diversions.

I got just about all the cool things you could get on this machine, including the i9-9900, m.2 drives, tobi eye tracking, and the G-Sync display. Let's hope it lasts me as long as a desktop would. So far I'm impressed but DAMN does it get hot!

Even though you can supposedly update the CPU and graphics in this thing I got the graphics amplifier for the extra USB ports. Plus I watched a couple videos on disassembly and it doesn't look like a lot of fun so I'll go the easy way.
