For me the peanut butter would be the Atari 800, and chunky could be an Apple IIe

Atari 800XL all the way

you “commies” have nothing.... 😉

we had better sound and depending on dev as good as graphics. and our disk drive SIO devices ran circles around commodore 1541.

but honestly all these decades later, i have come to appreciate the C64. thank “The 8-bit Guy” for that.

You had nothing on the Amiga. But I guess that's unfair, it was "next gen". :D

Also Amiga games are still 100% playable and still look and sound good! Fuck the C64. *ducks and runs*

(Would certainly have loved it over the TRASH 80 COCO II I had in its place though.)

Man that hits me right in the nostalgia's! Remember the load times on some games were like come back tomorrow it might have loaded:P

I'm buying this even if I have to import it from the UK. I really want to get GeOS and GeoWrite up and running again. I loved using them to work on stories in the 80's and I think it would be a great throwback keyboard to work on. I could get the running on a real C64, but GeOS was super slow. Love to see them running on an emulator with a USB as the drive. Should be zippy!

on the Amiga vs Atari ST, the winner is clear: Amiga

The Amiga was the multi-media PC of the times. The ST was great, but Atari always made weird compromises with graphics.

nevertheless we salute and honor those that drove progress. both Commodore and Atari were pioneers all the way back to the venerable 2600 (my first console in 1979). we have the games and capabilities we have today because of them. and that’s a good thing.

cheers

What, no ZX love?

I live in the US, so I've only experienced these computers through emulation. I love 8-bit micros!
