I jumped in for a few rounds of Heroes of the Storm to get the shark mount and I think I'll spend the rest of the weekend playing the last Destiny 2 expansion. After that, I'll probably go back to Horizon: Zero Dawn or play some Dead Space 3.

what do you think of Vampyr so far?

It looks like it has potential, but Iím reticent to take the plunge.

It is definitely an AA title, at best. The writing is pretty good, but the gameplay gets in the way of actually enjoying the game. Dialogue choices are incredibly jarring depending on the order in which you go through the dialogue wheel, the combat is pretty forgettable, the UI and progression system are ugly as fuck, but the overall decision making and world building that you do is pretty good so far.

This is a game that would work much better as a straightforward point and click adventure game, rather than as an action role playing game. But they likely saw more money could be obtained through padding the gameplay with poor combat.

I finished up the Destiny 2 Warmind expansion. It’s a tiny expansion pack. I think it is less than half the size of the first expansion and it has very little original content. It has like one big boss that is new and nothing else. Very disappointing. You can see that they just stopped development of it at some point and started to focus on Forsaken because Warmind is included for free in the Season Pass and Forsaken is not.

I would have played through it in a single session, except that I had to play a few PvP matches to get my gear up to higher level for one of the two bosses. The final boss doesn’t seem to damage you at all, you just throw the spear at him a few times and he dies. The mini-boss right before that was a ton more work.

I started playing Mass Effect Andromeda after that. I got it super cheap and so I thought I would check it out. My TBD pile includes Wolfenstein, The Evil Within, Prey and Battlefield 1 (single player campaign) not to mention that I could finish up Horizon.

I’m not that interested in Horizon, it is fun, but a bit of the samey, samey after a while. There just isn’t enough variety there. A lot of those open world titles have the same problem.

I also have Skyrim, Fallout 4 and The Witcher 3 on the list. I never seem to get around to those since I know they take forever to complete. Though, I don’t have any of the Fallout 4 DLC. I might have to see how much the GotY edition is.
