Jon Favrau Teases Season 2 of The Mandalorian

So I still don't have Disney+ or anything other way to watch The Mandalorian.

Is it worth it? Good series?

You can always sign up for a 7 day trial, binge over the weekend, and then cancel.

Easy Money!

It's fantastic. The best Star Wars since Star Wars. The pace is a little off, it's much slower than most action movies and the gunfights are way up close and personal, more like old westerns than typical space battles, but it still ends up working.

And Baby Yoda is SO CUTE!

The only show in the last 10 years that actually I planned my weekend around to watch as soon as it came on the stream. The last episode was like eating fantastic dessert after the rotten steak that was Episode IX.

That's what I want!

The gunfights are patterned after old westerns, the characters are close up and kinda one guy shoots and the other shoots so you can see what is going on. Even in the big finale fight they took their time and showed the shooting.

It is a nice change of pace from the John Woo cinema fights we get today.

The season finale was great. I had to look up what that thing was Mof Gideon used at the very end and I guess I have to watch the Clone War series now. The call back to KOTOR1/2 was cool.

The Season Finale? Already? Seems like there's only been 6 or 7 episodes.

If so, good. I wait to watch shows till I can watch the series at my pace so if this is done I can hop on Disney+ and binge.

Yeah, there’s only eight episodes weighing in between a half hour and the 48 minute finale. Somehow none of them feel rushed or too short. Disney released one episode per week but I waited until 5 before “acquiring” them and watching a few at once. It’s a more satisfying binge watch when you think of it as a movie.

We just finished it last night...and I really like it. Reminds me of a mix of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly meets Firefly.

And that opening scene, in the last episode?!?!?!!? CLASSIC!! LOL

Been loving it so far and can't wait for season 2.

Favreau decided to make Lone Wolf and Cub but in Star Wars, and we are all the better off for it. It's phenomenal. Personally, I like it more than I do the latest trilogy overall.

I liked it very much, and I also liked Episode IX. Very different. I appreciate what each story brings to Star Wars lore, and there's a lot to like about The Mandalorian.

I like how many episodes are self-contained. You're not just watching one long story stretched out. The pace is slow and the guest actors do a phenomenal job each week. Looking forward to S2.

Since there is no Disney+ here, I am just going with the tried and true torrent method :)

Not such a bad decision. Iíve got Disney+ and itís pretty much just old movies and a metric ton of missing shit. They donít even have all the Star Wars movies or all the Marvel movies, two things they should have locked up before turning on the service.

Itís really got a long way to go before itís worth a monthly fee.

I torrent the mandalorian, im not sure if disney has dolby vision/atmos enabled with 4k, but you can download in 1080p from many sources.

HillTribe 12-29-2019 06:06 PM

I know I've mentioned it before, but we have had several friends still not know it was a thing. If you have the Verizon unlimited phone plan, you get a year of Disney+ for free.

Just throwing that out there.

vallor 12-30-2019 03:05 AM

I watched it all this evening (not hard, the longest episode is 40 minutes without the recap and credits, the shortest clocks in under 28 minutes).

I thought the stand-off in the finale was dumb and a few of the characters were retarded, but otherwise the writing, directing, and action were all decent.

The last scene in the finale was very unexpected and definitely a call out to super-fans. It bodes very well for season 2.

It was basically an extended Star Wars movie which, hopefully over the next season or two, gives LucasFilm enough new character fodder for their next movie series now that they've said the Skywalker Saga finished in Rise of Skywalker.

Jon Favreau is not getting paid enough. He is definitely the replacement for Kathleen Kennedy if Disney ever gets the balls to fire/retire her (we can't be sexist, we have a token female in charge of one of our biggest IPs! Sure, under her guidance it nearly died entirely but hey, vagina!). Without him we wouldn't have the MCU and now he might be the only hope for *good and original* Star Wars!

The Mandalorian is fantastic. I enjoyed every minute with my son. It gives me hope for the future of the Star Wars universe. There is hope.
