Torchlight II Development Visualization

Quote:

A gource (http://code.google.com/p/gource/) visualization of nearly three years of development on Runic Games' Torchlight II. The visualization is based on activity in our source control system. Every piece of art, sound, or code that helped shape the game is represented somewhere in the frenzy.

The music is a recently unearthed archaeological selection from the long-distant schoolboy days of a certain Runic Games employee who shall remain nameless to spare he and his cohorts the embarrassment. We welcome your speculation and evidence in the comments.

fucking awesome! Just ran our GIT project through this and it's amazing seeing all the little busy bees. ;) When running it locally you can speed up and look at files (hovering) so much more useful than a speedy video.

How exactly is this useful? (Serious)

Three years of development, yet not enough talent to stick it on consoles too. Memory my ass. How is this game more demanding than Skyrim, Gears of War, Uncharted, etc. More like complete laziness and lack of skill. Epic fail.

I bought it for PC, by the way.

I guess they want to limit their market? Dumb move.

Yeah very stupid move. It would sell a lot on consoles cause they dont have any competition from Blizzard there.

I agree, it's cool to watch but a visualization where you can't extract any actionable or useful information is kinda a waste of time.

That video was pretty boring. Torchlight II, thankfully, is not. I played nearly every free second I had this weekend. Nearing level 50, the game has gotten better as I've progressed. The environments, enemies, gear, boss fights, everything...
