Wish they included 3 as well. That was the one that I really played like crazy.

Played the hell out of 1, 2 and 3. 4 started to go off the rails and then underground completed it. Haven't played one since then.

How old is Tony Hawk now? Is he on Social Security yet? ;)

FF7, RE, and now THPS...what is this...the late 90's?

Yes. When vidya was....good.

It was interesting seeing those comparison parts of the video. In my mind, THPS always looked a lot better than it apparently actually did. PS1 polygons... always forget how rough that gen was.

I'm so excited about this......great time for a classic remake.

PS1 certainly was. THPS didn't look all that great even back then. THPS2 on the Dreamcast, however, was impressive. With a VGA adapter, you got a native 640 x 480 resolution on your TV, which made all the difference for me. I was never a big fan of (or very good at) the many extreme-sports games that popped up in the late 90s/early 00s, but I remember playing THPS2 to completion, skating with Spider-Man on the Moon (or something like that).

Usually, I scoff at remakes, because they either show me how not-that-great a game really was, or they try to shove modern stuff into old games, destroying the original experience (I like the "FFVII Remake", but this is exactly what's happening there). In this case, I'm extremely tempted, though. I remember how finely tuned the challenges were in those old levels (sprinkled with some frustrating bits, of course), and the sense of progression was great. Those new graphics don't hurt, either. I just hope they'll keep the original "reward" videos in there, even if the resolution would be laughable nowadays.

Tip: Start at minute 12:00!

I did miss out on this on the Dreamcast. Mainly since I already owned it. I also didn't go down that VGA route on my Dreamcast. I really should have. Jack Black did a vid for the remake with Tony Hawk and most of the original skaters from these games. That was fun to see. On his Jablinksi(sp?) games YouTube channel. Kind of fun to see them all now. Still skating.
