I hope Knives Out bombs so hard the blast radius take out Rian Johnson's career leaving just a smoking crater as an object lesson to others that decide to fuck up Star Wars.

On a different note, has anyone followed the TV show Blindspot? Is it any good? I love Jamie Alexander but I never got the chance to check out this show. Is it wrapped up now after the 4th season?

From what I'm reading, it isn't even very good. They said that there are no "clues" to the mystery in the movie itself, so it's a mystery with no advanced warning to what the ending will be. That sounds like it will suck ass. The best part of a mystery is seeing that at the end the clues to the story where there in front of you the whole time.

I heard a saying a while ago that sums that up (regarding writing): the reader feels most rewarded when they are able to say "Oh, I should have seen that coming!", not "Where did that come from?"

Agreed. I don’t know if you have seen the new Watchmen TV series, but it is a good example of “Oh, I should have seen that coming.” They are being really faithful to the spirit of the comic book and adding a bunch of interesting stuff to the mythology. It feels a lot like what Alan Moore himself would have written as a sequel.

OMG yes. This is what I've been botching about for years - although not as eloquently. The other one is genuinely triggering emotions instead of tear-jerking.

Agree, unless a full, honest repent is given by Disney and Rian, I will never give a dime to anything where Rian Johnsonn is involved.

So far it seems that Episode IX will also be a clusterfuck of epic proportions.

I never saw it, but a lot of friends did, and they liked the show a lot.

Probably going to pick up Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2202 - Part Two. This is such a great remake/reboot of the original 70s series. Loving it!

That new Watchmen show is really great. Unless I'm completely forgetting a ton of stuff (which is very possible), they've strayed far from the source, but have done a hell of a job with their world building. It seemed far fetched at first, but as the episodes filled in the blanks it really became a cohesive original complex plot. Love it....

Btw knives out got amazing metacritic reviews. I'm always down to see a great movie so I'm hoping for the best....

I've watched the first 2 episodes, but it felt very boring and race-baity. The main characters were not exciting or compelling, either. I've heard that episode 3 gets better. Do you agree, or is it pretty much more of the same?

I was alternating between Watchmen and Titans season 2. I got super hooked on Titans; it's a pure comic book show, but with a "hard R" rating. It feels like someone finally made a comic book show for someone my age. I'm really loving it. Watching Titans alongside Watchmen, it became no challenge. One is full of action, violence, intrigue, and features characters I've been reading for years, the other is like "look at the racists. Look at the anti-racist girl who fights them. Yay lets make a whole show about racists."

I saw that Titans got picked up for season 3 so I finally just subbed to DC Universe. I want to give money to people who make content that I like. They also have a crazy looking r-rated Harley Quinn animated show starting this week, which looks strange as hell because it has the art we're used to with DC, but everyone is cussing and saying outlandish shit.

Not that cusswords make something good, but I just appreciate when a company willingly goes into a project not trying to be "fun for the whole family" like Disney. Now I'm hearing that they're planning to make a PG-13 Predator show. Fucking Disney dude, just sell Predator and Alien to a company that isn't so obsessed with "all ages" crap.
