Autopsy Shows Carrie Fisher Had Cocaine, Heroin, Ecstasy in Her System

Variety has the news.

Quote:

Carrie Fisher had cocaine, methadone, heroin and ecstasy in her system when she died in December, according to an autopsy report released Monday.

The coroner’s report listed sleep apnea as the primary cause of death, with drug intake as a contributing factor. The report stated that Fisher’s family objected to a full autopsy, and coroner’s investigators had access to limited toxicology specimens. The conclusions were based on toxicology results and an external examination of Fisher’s body.

Fisher died on Dec. 27, four days after going into cardiac arrest on an airplane arriving at LAX from London. The report states that Fisher’s assistant was on the plane with her. The assistant reported that she was awake and normal at the beginning of the flight, but had “multiple apneic episodes, which was her baseline” during the flight. At the end of the flight, she could not be awoken.

“Based on the available toxicological information, we cannot establish the significance of the multiple substances that were detected in Ms. Fisher’s blood and tissue, with regard to the cause of death,” the report states.

According to the report, Fisher may have ingested the cocaine as early as three days before the flight, adding to the uncertainty about the cause of death. The report also notes a likely exposure to heroin, which could have suppressed her breathing as she went into cardiac arrest.

In addition to the illegal drugs, Fisher was also taking Prozac, Abilify and Lamictal under prescription. She was also taking oxycodone without a prescription.
Drugs are bad, M'Kay.

Just doing all the things. Not great on the body at her age especially if she had been doing that for a long period of time throughout her life.

It is known that methadone interferes with the effectiveness of MDMA, requiring ridiculously high dosage of MDMA for a methadone user to even begin to feel any effect of the MDMA (your mileage may vary). I wouldn't be surprised if it interferes with cocaine in the same manner.

What an utter waste of good drugs.

Forgot to mention (apparently I can't edit posts?), you're not even supposed to use ecstasy at all when you're on antidepressants.

Quote:

SSRIs (Prozac, Paxil, & Zoloft among others) may reduce the effects of MDMA. Other types of antidepressants include MAOIs, which could cause dangerous or even fatal reactions if taken with MDMA or other strong stimulants.

For an old-time longtime druggie Carrie sure was bad at this.

ADDITIONALLY I've just been informed by a methadone user that doing heroin or oxy while taking methadone is ALSO completely ineffectual and a total utter waste.

If you're still doing drugs past 40 (pot, beer excluded) you're not learning your lessons.

She spoke her mind and told it like it was. Truly an hero.

Hollywood needs to burn people. Don't you get it? They have a death rate approaching professional wrestling.

60% of America! Or, should I say, "'Merica!"

Clearly, some of that is necessary. Also clear is that much of it is NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT.

America is dead, only violence can restore what has been broken.

Most of the drugs being used - according to that article - are for conditions like hypertension, heart failure, diabetes and other elements of the “cardiometabolic syndrome". In other words, most of the drugs being prescribed are to treat issues caused by obesity.

"Prescription drug" is a massive blanket term that covers an incredible number of drugs; not all of them are addictive. The notion that over half of our population is on at least one prescribed medication is pretty terrifying...but, not for the reason you're seemingly implying.

Here in downtodden Kentucky we call them, Pain Pills. I want to fuck a trailer park girl right now.

Poor gal. Pretty much as expected though, when you're an abuser and you get put in a high-stress environment you're usually at higher risk of falling off the wagon :(

The last time I was in a trailer park I got a blow job. I think it's standard issue there.

So is herpes. So...give and take, I suppose.

For all of those who think that she took the drugs all at the same time are idiots and saying that its a waste of drugs, not to mention that you can piggyback them at different times to have different effects. This is done to ease the effects of coming down, purposely come down, or move to a different high.
