I gotta admit I was kinda laughing when I first saw this but lately I've become way more interested in it.

Now why cant they have made an Appleseed that looks this good. Heck I'd even take Tank Police :p

PacerDawn 11-13-2018 08:31 AM

This looks to be shaping up to be a pretty good game!

Mozgus 11-13-2018 08:32 AM

So Motorball will actually be in the first movie? Wonder if they're trying to condense things into just two movies now.

HB_IKE 11-13-2018 10:00 AM

this looks nice ... I guess the trailer at least is good.

I'd love to see a Patlabor movie, myself.

Because james cameron commands way more production quality and guarantees backers a bit of a return on their money.

Saw preview in the theatre. OMFG incredible I am all over this!! The only way it could have been better is to put Anya Taylor-Joy as lead star, being the most exquisite creature in all of creation.

haha. nice :)

they should call this Final Fantasy whatever we are up to.

Too much CGI, but if the writing is compelling, it could be enough to override the constant parade of artificiality. Hope so!

Chief Smash 11-13-2018 02:22 PM

It looks both good and bad at the same time. That's a very James Cameron quality.

Mad Max RW 11-13-2018 06:11 PM

Someone made something worse than Valerian.

Terran 11-13-2018 07:34 PM

Valerian really was a steaming pile of shit. It was absolutely terrible. Delevingne has the acting ability and charisma of a cardboard cutout in a movie theater lobby.

You're dead to me. Valerian was incredible! Cult classic just like Fifth Element.

Honestly, I agree with you in that it had the great potential to be as great as fifth element but unfortunately it's shackled to the medium norm of having to only be X amount of screen time.

It was just too big for the pants/shoes to fit in.

If it was a trilogy/two parter I think I'd have loved it more.
I guess the real complaint is there just wasn't enough of it but i mean the idea is epic as fuck.

Maybe the expectations were too low but I thought it was enjoyable enough. The ending was a little weak but I didn't regret watching it.

Terran 11-14-2018 02:10 PM

Valerian was shit, and the lead actors were absolute garbage. Neither of them has an ounce of charisma or stage presence. It lost close to $100,000,000 lol. "Cult classic" indeed. :D

Generally, cult classics are the ones that failed the most. Blade Runner, Abyss, Boondock Saints, etc. They were commercial failures, but gained new life when they were re-released as Director's Cuts or were made available for rental/purchase. The problem with something like Valerian, is that it is a modern film, so it is not something that will be talked about inbetween classes in college, during lunch in primary school, or passed from friend to friend. There is just too much content available at any given point that people will just watch something "better" without really giving it a chance.
