Valve's Artifact Will Be Playable At PAX West, Releases In November

Game Informer has the story.

Quote:

Valve has announced that Artifact, their trading card game based on Dota 2, will be playable at PAX West in Seattle at the end of this month. Additionally, they've also revealed that the game will release on November 28 for $20 on Steam, with mobile versions coming in 2019.

Valve announced the card game during their International Dota 2 tournament last year, which makes one of the faster turnarounds for Valve-announced games. While we got a chance to check the game out earlier this year, the PAX West showing is the first time the public will get a chance to test it out.

It would not be surprising if we also see a bit more of Artifact at The International 2018 when it takes place later this month, but fans who want to get hands-on will have to try it out at PAX in Seattle on August 31. For everyone else, November 28 is not that far away.

I can't get into these digital card games. They all suffer from the same problems, including power creep with the introduction of newly necessary cards and RNG ridiculousness.

Hearthstone swore me off of the entire genre for good.

YAWN! At this point anyone who likes this kind of thing is heavily invested (both money and time-wise) in Hearthstone. I expect this will flop, hard. But hey, why invest development time in Left 4 Dead 3, Half-life 3 or Team Fortress 3 which are guaranteed to make them money, when they could just push this turd out of Gabe Newell's proverbial asshole.

Who rips off each other more, at this point, Valve claiming a WCIII mod as its own and making this Hearthstone rip off or Overwatch Fortress II, available on the Blizzard Not-Steam app? The only thing we haven't seen is a World of Portal, which I presume is coming one day.

I feel like this was announced years ago. I played dota 2 for awhile. But I don't really care that much for the characters or art style. Not sure who this is for. Already a bunch of CCG video games. Many with more established IP'S.
