The Lego Movie 2 was amazing. It made me cry worse than Titanic. Beautiful film.

Train your Dragon doing better than Alita is CRIMINAL. Alita was my movie of the year. Doubt even Avengers can top it.

Hugo absolutely kills Alita. I find myself not really willing to recommend Alita to anyone other than anime/manga fans. For anyone else, Hugo is going to absolutely kill their enjoyment of the movie.

I'm not at all surprised to see the third and final entry in a wildly popular, family-friendly series beating out most movies right now. Alita is still on my list of movies I want to catch before it's out of theaters, but it was never really destined to be wildly popular. It's based on a relatively obscure (as far as mainstream pop culture is concerned) 30-year-old comic book from Japan.

I'd certainly like to see the movie do better, mainly because the series has been on my radar for a few years; it's just one I've never gotten around to picking up, unfortunately..
