Maybe not the kids market so much, but I have no doubts whatsoever that smartphones have absolutely destroyed the adult market for dedicated handheld gaming platforms.

Yeah, App Store and Android Market are kind of like XBIG--there's fairly low barriers to entry, but it's hard to rise above the chaff and get your titles noticed, even if they're truly excellent. The rating system helps, but unless you're in the top 25 or 50, then even that isn't going to help you very much.

On a side note, be sure to let me know as soon as your app becomes available, and either me or Mav would be happy to do an EvAv site review on it.
