I chuckled at "Brought to you by Original Systems - we create galaxies". The rest... I don't know, I just can't bring myself to like this "A-Wing" (I don't know what it's called, but it looks like a capital "A") fighter they keep showing off. Compared to some of the original Kilrathi ships, I find its design woefully uninspired.

But then, that's just me. I'm not a backer, so I lack any emotional investment at this point. Let's see what the finished game brings to the table.

Well it doesn't look as awful as I thought it might be. Some genuine progress seems to be made but they didn't really showcase anything in fluid motion other than tiny snippets so we can't tell how janky the animations act under load. I have a feeling if they showed more than 30 seconds of continuous play there would be a major crash or other hangup which is why hype trailers don't really do much for me.

The dynamic damage is a nice touch. I'll definitely continue to keep my eye on this one.

It's everything I had hoped and more. The damage modeling is something else by itself. At one point I was disabled, floating in space, the wings of my hornet long since sheared off by weapons fire, a missle hit my tail and literally separated my cockpit from it, I was floating in just a cockpit, no weapons left, had to eject, which also has it's own animation.

It's pretty as hell. As visceral as Mr Roberts promised, you can actually see shells ejecting as you fire rotary cannons if using an external view, and the thrusters on your ship fire independently based on how your ship is turning, the physics feel great as well. Surprisingly the performance is solid too, runs at 60 fps on maxed settings. my only complaint is the space you're allowed to fly in isn't totally wide open, there are invisible walls, my guess is this is just for the alpha release and will be expanded in future updates but still that was a little disappointing. Over all though I'm very impressed and can't wait to see what improvements come down the pipe.

What PC you running on spec wise and what are you all using to control this thing? I always see them with 360 pads in the demo but would like to know how Joysticks rock.

i7-3820 @ 3.6
16 Gigs of Ram
670 4gig card.

Using mouse and keyboard and it controls fine. Actually might be a little TOO easy with mouse aiming. Might have to break out the ol joystick and see how it does with that.

Slightly better than mine but not by much, should be good. Cheers.

Crossfire and SLI are broke in this release. Disabling it so I could play REALLY dropped my FPS. However, this game is effing amazing looking. I'm feeling really good about my several hundred dollars at this point.

Are you using an internal FPS counter or Fraps?

That sounds great!

And here we are in 2014 when Interstate-76 did this with cars back in the 90s! ')

Don't read into that too much, just havin a little fun.

I really hope this becomes something incredible. It's amazing to me that we are just now seeing some of these things happen from successful Kickstarters as opposed to what the big name publishers gave us for years. When someone would create something special, they were nabbed up & told to make it appeal to the mass market.

I really like what Kickstarter accomplishes, but I am aware of the inherent risks.
