This one will go up on the shelf next to the LEGO Ecto-1.

I spent Christmas over at my Dad's and then in the evening I took apart a LEGO Super Secret Police Dropship that fell off the shelf about a year ago and smashed into about two dozen pieces.

I thought it would be easier to just start over than to try to figure out how to put it back together, so I took an hour and broke it down 100%, I didn't leave any pieces together.

Then I was up until about 1 AM putting it together. Very easy way to relax and enjoy the evening.

In a bit of hilarity, I ended up with 4 more pieces than I started with, so I did miss a step somewhere. Nothing you can see though.

Last year my Sister got me the LEGO Movie motorcycle chase set. After I put together the Super Secret Police Dropship last year, I was kinda done, so that set sat in the closet till this year.

This morning I put it together.

Now extrapolate that thought to complex engineering feats such as buildings (elevators!), bridges, airplanes, vehicles, and the like. Enjoy your next ride to the 75th floor or over that chasm with the raging river below!

Another shot of the completed LEGO Mystery Machine.

I would grab the LEGO Yellow Submarine, but I think I'll snag a hat instead. My Dad gave us a generous Christmas gift this year so I think I can get something extra!

I like them because it gets me out from in front of the computer or console for a day or two. It's a bonus that they look cool on the shelf, though my Wife was laughing at me on Christmas Eve because we went to her Sister's house and her son has a bunch of LEGO sets -- so my wife was saying that I have the same hobbies as a 12-year-old. Ha!

You have to watch for sales. Target had all their LEGO sets for 25% off in early November and it is routine for Amazon to discount the newest sets the second they hit their website.

I've seen great deals on Star Wars sets on Amazon, most of their non-Star Wars stuff doesn't seem to get discounted much, but the Star Wars stuff often goes on sale.

Merry Late Christmans and Early Freaking New Year! I have a 3 foot tall lego man I should put together, bought at Legoland many years ago. I always thought he would be a awesome door greeter.

I wound up putting together some Legos a few years ago and was suprised to remember how relaxing and fun it is. It's like a 3d Jigsaw puzzle. I had completely forgotten.

Or maybe when I was younger it WASN'T relaxing and fun. It might have been frustrating with a kid mindset.
