Yeah it's the new one. They want to reach out to all different types of people but they could easily solve this by letting us make out own characters. Let people make their own soldiers, choose all of the details etc. But they have them all pre-designed. The specialists each have their own super cool codenames too. For instance, the American is named Ruin. So when I kill him in a match, my guy says something like "Ruin eliminated." It totally takes the realism away. So we're at war, and my guy knows the guys on the other side by name and by calling him out by name, he's possibly killing the same guy several times in one firefight. I know the game isn't going for pure realism but that is pretty immersion breaking to me.

Agreed, Battlefield always tried to go the more realism route and then Dice pulls that shit. I keep hearing the next Dragon Age in development is SJW'ed to death as well, and if that ends up being the case I'll just wait a year and buy it when it's 20 bucks. I am done supporting the obvious political agenda pushing.

Another “I know you are but what am I “ defense. Cute.

I might be getting tired of platformers. Every time i throw in an old or even new one, i play for a few mins, then turn it off.

I would argue that the best platformers are 2D. We did have a sort of second golden age of them with games like Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Ratchet & Clank, and Jak & Daxter. But the best parts of those games was not the platforming but instead, for instance, the shooting in R&C for example. I know people go nuts for Mario 64 or now Odyssey but I still think they pale in comparison to the old great 2D platformers. Games like Mario World, the early Castlevanias, the Ghosts n' Goblins series, the 2D Metroid series (though people put these in their own category sometimes), etc. I think they all still hold up very well today.

I vastly preferred the Galaxy games over Odyssey. The stuff they did with gravity and all of the orbs made for an interesting 3D platformer.

Agree 100%. The Galaxy games were the best 3D Mario games I've played, by far.

I know there are already a ton of ports and "remasters" for the Switch...but I'd love to see the Galaxy games ported. I can't be bothered to find - let alone set up - my old Wii and I'm not even sure if I ended up keeping my copies of the two Galaxy games. A port/remaster would absolutely be welcomed in my house, especially with the added bonus of portability.

I know I've said this before too, but the reason games were mostly platformers back then is the tech was limited, now it isn't, so much more can be done rather than just rehashing the same tired ol gameplay formula.
