Star Wars: Battlefront II's Story Begins As A Book This July

Game Informer has the story.

Quote:
Christie Golden's upcoming Inferno Squad book was announced as a follow-up to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but it turns out it's much more than that. During Star Wars Celebration, Electronic Arts revealed the full title of Golden's book, Star Wars Battlefront II: Inferno Squad. The novel tells how Inferno Squad became one of the Empire's most prized weapons.

Iden Versio and her team are tasked to eliminate Saw Gerrera's Partisans, and apparently do enough to rise in the Imperial ranks. Star Wars: Battlefront II: Inferno Squad releases on July 25.

This seems like it could be a fun book; the previous "tie-in" followed a Rebel squad called Twilight Company, so it'll be kinda cool to get one focusing on a group of Imperial soldiers.

Fortunately, the previous one had nothing to do with the video game, aside from having "Battlefront" on the cover. Hopefully, this one follows suit.

It's too bad, this franchise is tainted by Electronic Arts. What's the point of the book title tie-in with this shitty game company? It would do better on its own, its SW, no need for this "Battlefront II" garbage weighing it down.

It'll likely be a tie-in in name only; "Battlefront" may as well be the title of a series of books focusing on the regular soldiers of Star Wars.
