Red Dead 2 for sure, it's slowly taking me away from my Battletech addiction. Such a fun game.

Yakuza 0, without a doubt. Fantastic game.

I highly recommend Doom 64 EX. It's more than a port of Doom to N64. Doom 64 is canonically a sequel to Doom 2 and is even referenced in Doom 2016. The atmosphere is sort of a proto-Quake with spookier music and darker maps. All of the weapon and monster sprites are replaced. Final Doom was a letdown. Evilution has good map design but Plutonia 2 was a bit better.

Another team of mappers recreated the Doom 64 maps for Doom 2 if you want to start with a "pure" experience. Also well done and recommended.

I just completed a newly released Ashes 2063 episode called Ashes: Dead Man Walking. The maps are enormous and brilliant. I've seen plenty of giant Doom maps before where you feel like a rat in a maze and it's just frustrating as hell. This is so well designed and at the same time logical. And the soundtrack is orgasmic.

Which Pi are you using for PSX games?

I picked up a Zero W for a cartridge case build because of the size; I used the case for the RoboCop NES game as the case, so everything had to be kinda small.

I'm pretty sure the 3 handle PSX games well, but I'd be curious to see what you used.

I've played 80 hours of BF5 in less than a month. That's a lot for me, especially since it's not the only thing I'm playing.

Picked up Below, but haven't played it much yet. I was sold on it the first time is saw it at E3 2014 (I think that's the one it was revealed at).

Picked up COD Blops 4 on PC and Insurgency Sandstorm also.

And as always I'm playing The Binding of Isaac. I play at work on my Switch or Vita, at home on my PC or Xbox. Or PS4. That game kicks ass.

Red Dead 2. So much to explore and discover. Overwhelming but fun.

I have a Pi 3 B and it does just fine with the PSX, the Zero not so much. Here is a nice site with per-configured images for the Pi. They even have some Pi Zero images. If you click on the read info links; they often have videos showing the image.

That being said, these are images that contain copyrighted ROMs.

Just got RDR2 at the family Christmas get together. Now to decide whether to upgrade from the original X Box One to the One X while they are on sale this week.

Just completed Metro Last Light and feel pretty satisfied and hopeful for the next one. For the rest of Sunday I'll be jumping between Heretic and Dusk. The third and last episode of Dusk came out so I finally got into the game. I'm a few levels in and it's like a hybrid of Quake 1 and Blood. Controls are spot on, environment design is good, but I'm not feeling the look of the badguys or weapon models. It would have been infinitely better if they went sprite based with locational damage like Brutal Doom/Project Brutality.

The X is what you want for 4K gaming or just a general performance increase. The only real question now is if you want to upgrade or see what is coming for the PS5 hardware announcement next year and/or the next Xbox.

It feels like MS is going to move right past the X to new hardware in 2020 to have something new to compete with the PlayStation 5. They wouldn’t have come right out and said that new hardware was in development during E3 if they were not planning to move right past the failure of the X to take market share away from Sony.

I hesitated to buy the PS4 Pro because I know the PS5 and the new Xbox are probably both coming out for the holiday in 2020. I just decided it was worth the upgrade for the 2.5 years till the new stuff comes out.

And I really wanted the red Spider-Man PS4.

I guess I am saying buy it!

I did a few hours of Red Dead Online and a bunch of Red Dead 2. My RDO experience was pretty good, I only had a couple of times where I was randomly attacked by other players. Mostly we ignored each other until someone triggered a mission and then I had great luck with everyone working together during the missions. Not much voice chat though. Seems like most people don’t play with a mike.

I caught a legendary fish during a mission and had another legendary fish get away when my line broke. Seems like Dutch is losing his mind, so I must be getting pretty far in the story. I have had a bunch of little side missions where someone called for help and then you can’t find them, which is too bad, I could use the reputation boost.

A cheat way to build reputation is to catch fish and just throw them back all the time. You can build a ton of reputation that way.

Finished the A+ Yakuza 0. Started Tower of Time, which is shaping up to be brilliant if you like old school crpgs.
