Haven't seen the new one yet, but I wanted to open myself to criticism by saying that I absolutely love the old Alien versus Predator movie. Yeah, the one everybody hates, with the modern day antarctica, underground pyramid setting and the non-robotic version of Lance Henriksen. Good fun, great lead woman, cheezy dialogue. And aliens fighting predators fighting aliens and (spoiler alert) an alien predator! Woo.

I like all these films, but I understand that they just aren't good films and this one looks like the worst of the bunch.

I think that Predators is actually the best of the Aliens vs Predator franchise even though it didn't have the Aliens in it, I kinda lump it into the same spin-off category as the AvP films.

For me, the original Arnold movie was just a perfectly self contained movie... I don't need to know any backstory about the Predator. I don't need to see "an even BIGGER PredatAAAAR!". I don't care about any of that... so all these sequel are just too easy to ignore.

I haven't seen it, the country I'm in now doesn't have it.

But I'm deeply sad it didn't do well and wasn't good.

I think that due to poor performance, Disney will never make another aliens or predator movie and put it on ice.

I suppose I can still hope they will make another game.

WOW! Sounds like AMC Stubs A-List is by far the better service if you have a good AMC nearby.

How do you mess this stuff up? It's like they want it to fail. Seriously guys, high tech alien hunts people. Easy.

This is what happens when someone buys the rights and to avoid losing it due to time they hire some idiot to make the movie.

We don't need to know about the Predator being bullied when he was a little predator child or how he's confuse with prey identity or how he fantasizes about tickle fights. Or he's down because of a divorce with Mrs Predator who got his skull collection.

Hmmmm. Mr. and Mrs. Predator move to Earth with their pet alien? And they have problems with the Little League coach, the HOA, racist neighbors? I could go for this.

Because movies like this are made by idiots and focus groups instead of talented story tellers.

Fox owned the IP all throughout production. They weren't making this simply to maintain rights ownership; it's their's, just like Alien.

The Predator had Olivia Munn, which is synonymous with the stench of failure. She's terrible.

Never mind the kid and the dude. This group looks like some shit out of a Sci-Fi channel movie.

So overproduced, yet somehow cheap as shit.

You don't get to lump it in with the AVP films. Those are not cannon, Predators is.

As I've stated numerous times around here, Predator and Alien are my two favorite films. I have AMC A list and watched The Predator twice over the weekend. It could be the last one ever made, now that Disney bought Fox.

They didn't hire a rando to make the film, nor did they make it to "keep the rights." Fox owns the rights, and they hired a well known and well liked director to make it, Shane Black. I've never been a fan of his, but many people act like he's great. Whatever. He was also in the original Predator. He was the first of Arnold's group to die.

This new one is a tale of two halves. The first half or more is awesome, funny and just a joy to watch. The second half is more bad than good, and by the time you leave you've forgotten how happy you were earlier on. I won't spoil anything, but they reshot the ending and what they came up with was pathetic. A couple other instances occur and you scratch your head, but TBH I had to connect more dots on my own when watching the last Ant-Man movie than I did in this by far.

Anyways, the movie is okay. I think it'll end up in 3rd place in my rankings.

1. Predator
2. Predators
3. The Predator
4. Predator 2

Again, the AVP films are fun in their own right, after getting home last night I watched the first one again after watching the Predators 4K Bluray, but they aren't cannon, they are elseworld stories. It's still cool that they have the awesome creatures, but one is PG13, and the other is so dark you can barely make out what is happening most of the time.

Once more of you see it maybe we can talk openly about spoilers, but for now I won't.

I agree that picture isn't great, but it has the director sitting there in it, it's not supposed to be a movie poster or anything. Also, as an Army veteran, it is not abnormal at all for a squad to be that diverse. Probably the most diverse place I've ever been in was the Army.

It was a funny movie ... but Predator should not be a comedy :P
If it was not a predator movie i would give 7-8/10

That movie is indefensible, it is awful on every level.
