JJ Abrams Teases Star Wars: Episode 9 Story

GameSpot has the story.

Quote:
Star Wars: The Last Jedi isn't even in theaters yet, but already Episode IX director JJ Abrams is giving some hints about his next installment in the franchise. Abrams was hired to helm the ninth film in the Star Wars saga in September, after it was announced director Colin Trevorrow had left the project.

As he works on the movie's script, along with co-writer Chris Terrio (Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice), Abrams doesn't want the film to live in the past. Instead, he's looking to the future. Given that Disney, the studio behind Star Wars, will no doubt be continuing the franchise, that makes perfect sense.

During an interview alongside composer Michael Giacchino (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Abrams tells BBC Radio 4, "I feel like we need to approach this with the same excitement that we had when we were kids loving what these movies were and, at the same time, we have to take them places that they haven't gone, and that's sort of our responsibility." That's a comment that could be taken both literally and figuratively.
Read on.

That's a comment that could be taken any way you like. It's verbal tofu, a neutral canvas on which to paint whatever you invent in your own mind.

In other words, it's perfect corporate-marketing-speak, and perfectly useless.

Come on now, have some faith, it's not like JJ has a reputation for not seeing things through to completion. I'm sure Star Wars Beyond will turn out just fine.

I'm not too disappointed so far... except with one thing:

Michael Giacchino as the composer. Giacchino did a fine job on the new Star Trek movies, they've actually done a decent job keeping up with the best of the Star Trek composers like Jerry and Joel Goldsmith, Dennis McCarthy, and ofc James Horner. The main theme "Enterprising Young Men" from the first of the new Star Trek movies is fantastic.

In fact Giacchino may be one of the best new "big movie" composers to come around in a long time.

Here's another from the first Star Trek movie.

The new composers, including Giacchino, they've brought in for Star Wars are not coming CLOSE to the John Williams work. It is getting old because I'm getting tired of saying it but, goddamn, can we get someone to step up? It's not like the Star Trek score wasn't just as well known.

When the first remake trailer was shown, i was sitting, watching the camera pan across the sand......I knew it was going to be a black dude. I did a facepalm and said...awww fuck, of course!...Fuck this shit!

Nothing wrong with black actors or any other race actors, i grew up in the 1980s, not the 1880s. I was a huge movie buff till they went full retard. But the SJW shit was already in full race mode at that time and i knew they were going to go political with it. They put him in there purely for signaling. Nothing more.

Fuck Star Wars, fuck your gay faggot gaping anal space explorers, fuck your social commentary. Fuck you. Your going to kill the IP and im going to lulz in your general direction. And we all know its going to happen, dont we?

Next up. PEDO WARS!!: If She's Eight, Its Too Late!

I'm just not quite sure how you feel about Star Wars, blackzc...you really need to find a way to be clearer in your posts. Less ambiguity. Be more direct!

Be careful what you wish for, considering the ground organizations like "Heart's Progress", people getting away with calling themselves "Clover Gendered", and other insidious efforts I am honestly afraid. SJWs will bend over backwards to be inclusive.

How much you want to bet viewers of this movie will be watching actual child porn, thinking its acting?

Eh, the actor is 19 IRL.

Push those boundaries though. Inch by inch.

Well the director IS a subject matter expert so it might be close to a documentary. And considering "Teen" is one of the most searched for types of porn (along with various types of incest) it seems we may be past the point of no return.

But no one seems to be paying attention.

I want to go yell at these people who feel inclusive, non-judgemental approaches are the way to go and say "WAKE UP! SOME THINGS DESERVE TO BE JUDGED AND CAST FROM SOCIETY!"
