Batwoman TV Show Joins The CW's Ever-Expanding Arrow-Verse

Game Informer has the story.

Quote:
We knew Batwoman would be a focus in this fall's large Arrow-Verse crossover event running between Arrow, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and The Flash, but we now now this origin story will give way to a full series. In a story on TV Line, The CW revealed Batwoman is a forthcoming standalone series penned by Carline Dries, who previously worked on The Vampire Diaries.

The Bat family almost has too many members to count now, but Batwoman (also known as Katherine "Kate" Kane) has always been one of the more interesting players within it, often veering away from the typical superhero action to focus on detective work. She already has a tie with the Arrow-verse in Margaret "Maggie" Sawyer, a long-time love interest of Kane's, who has been in episodes of Supergirl.

We'll have to wait to see what The CW does with this character, who has yet to be cast. The official description for the show reads:
"Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing cityís criminal resurgence. But donít call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gothamís symbol of hope."

I watch arrow, and legends. Flash was my fav of these shows till the last season. I quit flash 5 or 6 episodes in. Only watch supergirl when it crosses over. Black lighting just seemed to be trying to hard to be "woke"for me to get into it.

I am a big superhero nerd. I really don't want a bat women show. I think superhero fatigue is a real thing. If the CW did something real weird I might care like Booster Gold or Fire and Ice.

I'd watch something far out there like a Lobo series.

I cannot get into these shows; I think it's the look/feel (production quality).

They'd never do it justice. Maybe if Netflix, HBO or Showtime took the reins, but not TV.

I am a fan of the CW shows. They actually show super powers while the Marvel TV shows seem to barely want to scratch the surface instead dabbling mostly in the spy side of Shield and Hydra.

The social justice crusade does get a little thick sometimes. Like I watched an episode of Supergirl last night where they pulled the "they think we're [Mexicans] are all murderers and rapists" and "the only thing they hate more than Mexicanos is Homosexuals" but that's a tiny fraction of the shows.

This one, with the "open lesbian" and social justice right in the title makes me even more wary. But they've earned enough good will over half a decade of programming I'll give em a chance.

Have you seen the Netflix Marvel shows? Daredevil is great. Punisher is ok. The rest are bad and just as SJWy if not more so than the CW shows only with less fighting and lots of boring side characters/plots that have little to do with the main character or villain.

I would love something like The Maxx or Aeon Fluxx to be revived!

A Batman show with a hot red-headed lesbian. Man, bring this thing straight to HBO, please!
