CD Projekt Opening Another Studio

CD Projekt will be opening a studio in Kraków next month, their first project will be a "smaller" 20 hour game.

Quote:
Witcher developer CD Projekt Red will open a new studio in Poland in the historic city of Kraków next month, where it will make one of two new smaller games approximately 20-hours in length.

"This July we will open an office in Kraków," said CDPR managing director Adam Badowski in a statement to Eurogamer.

"As we informed in our strategy outlook some time ago, aside from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077, the Studio aims to develop two smaller (approximately 20 hours of gameplay) premium quality titles.

Odd that they have different locations. Having multiple projects in one studio improves productivity.

Take two races with a history of conflict and competition, give them each a studio.... profit!

Unless they're everything Square isn't. Imagine Valve, but better. That could be CDProjekt Red. The Anti-EA. God bless Poland!

Whatever it is, best of luck to them. I'll be keeping an eye out for it.

Turns out producing a good product with minimal-to-no drm and listening to your customers to make sure you're delivering the things they want to buy, and then not rushing those things half-finished out the door in order to ship-by-christmas or whatever is a good business decision, despite almost every other developer taking the other stance.

Who knew?

New article where they reaffirm their commitment to free updates and no DRM. I liked this part:
