World War Z gets a four-player co-op survival game, adapts the film not the book

VG247 has the story.

Quote:
Another announcement from The Game Awards last night, World War Z is being adapted as a four-player co-op survival game “coming soon” to PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

The game looks to take it takes most of its cues from the movie version of World War Z, starring Brad Pitt, rather than the novel by Max Brooks – which makes sense due to the apparent involvement of Paramount Pictures.

The suitably moody reveal trailer shows desolated landscapes from around the world, hinting at the variety of maps that might be on offer when the game drops.

World War Z is being developed by Saber Interactive, who’ve worked on third-person co-op shooter God Mode, a few other movie-licensed games, as well as arcadey basketball sim NBA Playgrounds.

The movie took nothing from the book except the title. The book was amazing. The movie was not.

The reason the zombies are pouring down city streets and climbing up the sides of buildings must be because some guy's wife called him on his cell phone when his ringer was on.

Because Valve can't count to 3. It's: "1, buy dev team, 2, shut down (or absorb, or release) dev team."

I found Left 4 Dead far too easy with boring linear maps and way too limiting in comparison. Ultimately it just didn't grab me like Killing Floor. Also packed 20 player servers were always more fun for me than 4 people. Never bothered with the sequels to either even though I somehow own them.
