Oh... and here’s a nice little teaser so be sure to check it out and tell us what you think via our social network channels.

Every Serious Sam iteration I always hope that they modernize the gameplay, and they never do.

Bless them....

I'm sure this will be great fun.

I hope that they never change the game play. It's simple... Throw a load of stuff at you. First Encounter and second encounter were awesome. SS2 was a bit odd with some great bits. SS3 updated the engine and reminded me of COD... then threw lots at you. Great games

Was never a fan of the Serious Sam games because they were released in a time where I was beginning to really enjoy more story oriented experiences, but I never hated their adherence to old-school first person shooting gameplay. After playing Doom, I am more likely to give Serious Sam 4 a shot, because it really showed that there is still a space for well engineered, fun to play shooters.

They were released for two reasons: The original was in fact first released as a free tech demo of the engine, showing off its high efficiency, long draw distance and numerous models moving together. While no one ultimately utilized the Serious Engine, all who tried the tech demo gameplay was positive when they played it. It occurred to the developers and the industry that gamers had been so inundated with the emergence of cinematic experiences that simple, over the top action gameplay had fallen by the wayside. And thus Serious Sam was born--a thread of a story, no long cinematic cutscenes or dialog, just continued, escalating violence and ridiculous boom-boom-boom against ever growing waves of enemies. Frogs.

Sums it up pretty well. Heck, their most iconic enemy...is a headless dude with bombs for hands that constantly screams while making a beeline towards you.

I wish Disney/ fox would pay these guys to make a Aliens vs predator game, their engine is screaming for something that pushes their engines limits.
