Go go Sonic! I am no fan of Jim Carrey these days but I'd rather see Sonic beat Call of the Wild and it's shitty CGI dog and today's Harrison Ford than have Call of the Wild hold the top spot.

Birds of Prey is in not even in striking distance of either of the top two, not even making up it's production budget yet domestically much less marketing and all the extra costs. Good.

Too bad about Brahms and Fantasy Island. Supposedly decent movies as far as horror goes but just not holding the audience attention they should.

Glad to see Dolittle bombing. Like Willy Wonka there was no need to remake it; the original held up just fine.

I actually enjoyed Sonic. To me, it was a bit of fun and had 'some' substance. I actually felt sorry for the little guy as he was all alone. They played that angle quite well, unlike Bumblebee that rammed home the fact that she'd lost her Father, over and over and over and over again.

Plus Jim, as always, was a riot to watch on the screen. Shame that he had to go through what he went through.

I was under the impression that it didn't quite go like that! (I only caught up with the story late on when he was proven to be innocent? (Oh god, what have I started!)

I never liked the Sonic series much. I was very psyched when the original was coming out but I was just dissappointed after a couple of hours of play. In my opinion, a very overrated franchise but to each his own. And the previews, even after the Sonic re-design, still looked like crap. That being said, my kids and wife had a long weekend and I felt like I should get out and do something fun with them and time constraints led to a movie being the only real choice. So we saw Sonic. It was very dumb but the kids laughed, it was a pretty benign and wholesome movie, and did what I believe they set out to do with it. When the credits rolled, my wife and I were pleased enough because it was just a fun movie for the kids with no forced messages or politically correct crap thrown in to win points. Oh yeah and even though he's a twit, for some reason, I still find Jim Carrey entertaining.
