Rumours circulate that Microsoft could be looking to buy EA

Well, if they buy EA clearly they're not getting out of gaming. I think they should, honestly. Sony, Nintendo, PC...it's enough. MS seems to kill its gaming purchases off with regularity as well.

Be funny if MS bought EA and took EA content exclusive, lol. That would take some balls, though. Doubt they have the cast iron necessary.

I thought MS was buying Capcom ?
If any company deserves to die its EA.
If this means I will get Kotor 3 or good starwars games I am all for it. Not buying an x bone but maybe I will start buying MS games on PC.

So EA games wouldn't come to PS4? WTF, I'm not cool with that.

This is, in all likelihood, complete horseshit. It was uttered in the same breath as "plans" to buy Valve...which would probably never happen. Gabe Newell doesn't exactly have fond memories of his former employer, by most accounts...and he'd have absolutely no reason to sell his private company.

If Microsoft actually ends up buying EA, I'd be absolutely shocked.

Ill post the exact same thing i posted other places does not make much sense. Unless they were to dig into the Troves of Abandonware by Ea. The main selling titles rely on licenseing which could come up for review if a purchase would go through. The non licensed games (other than battlefield) do not mesh with what microsoft already has ips for (titanfall, need for speed, and the like)

If i was Ea I would consider doing an isometric rpg engine and going through their old games and licenses and maybe make something out of them ideas i came up with where for Crusader, syndicate, Bad company , star wars, and plants vs zombies.

If microsoft really was intrested in purchasing a publishing house my bets would be on Ubisoft or take 2. Both have much more healthier owned portfolios and would have less overlap with the few games microsoft is putting out.

I wonder what a modern C&C game would look like. Man, now you have me dreaming for one!

I do, Mass Effect 3. Didn't play it tho.

Last game I bought from MS was Halo 4.

I wonder if EA is going to be destroyed by MS if/when they purchase it.

This is complete BS Cytogenesis.
Let's remember the original "rumor" came from Polygon. And then it somehow gets picked up and repeated by dozens of people that think Polygon does investigative reporting.
There is no way.
It should be obvious that EA makes the majority of its sales on PS4 and its valuation includes that. So if MS buys it, they buy it at full price and then they drop one platform they would be lucky if they made 50% ROI per dollar spent. And that is not even considering that IP holders would be furious to lose 50% unit sales for games based on their properties.
So no. This was just a BS dropin so Polygon could get tons more page hits.
Garbage.

I support MS buying EA, STEAM, PUBG or anything that causes them to waste more money. If they can bury EA on the way out, all the better.

MS, GTFO of video games.
