The only good season was season 1. It’s been a slow painful crawl since then. Slow paced boredom ensued throughout every season. It also kinda sucks for me and some people who want closure as to how this all started and if any solutions are being worked on. I recall in season 1 mentioned by the CDC doctor in season 1 saying the French were close to finding a cure. Should have went with that story, more interesting than all the other shit they have been showing.

This is a major problem with successful television shows. The economics of the show take control over the creative realities and the show ends up dying in an exhausted heap by the end.

Too many shows continue past their expiration date. This one passed that YEARS ago.

I don't think that's a defense which sticks at all. They figured out early on that being beaten resulted in you turning into a zombie. You wouldn't quickly conclude that maybe you should carry something that offers greater distance than a pocket knife? The thing is -- some of them actually do. The simple fact that others seem to regularly want to get closer than is warranted, even those not on a suicide mission at the time, makes me roll my eyes.

In my opinion, they just drag the story out too much. Change up the story. Finish the Negan arc, kill him, and then set off to find a cure or something. Show how different communities were created, with different rules and what not. Let them run into bad guys of all sorts of varieties, with some simply being tricksters and whatnot. Have some shell of a government exist, where they haven't realized Rome has fallen.

Okay, and either give Carl a haircut or kill him.

I dunno I tried to give this show a chance when it first came out and I was bored to tears right away. Haven't looked back since, sounds like that was a good decision.

I haven't watched in years and still know the mid season finale ended with him bitten by a zombie and the next episode he dies. Fans are pissed they did something so completely far off from the comics by killing one of the two main characters. At this point they might as well kill Rick and reboot the show with a new lead.

It should have ended a lot sooner. It just kept making money though and there's not much you can do with a show kept alive for reasons other than its own plot.

I watched the 7 seasons on Netflix in a binge and the fact they don't learn any lessons no matter how many times they are taught the lesson by having people closest to them die or get kidnapped, or whatever, is the worst part of the show.

Everything from trivial things like when to shoot and when not to shoot or "Hey we need to sneak over there through a bunch of zombies. Remember how every time we try to sneak we get caught EXCEPT when we do the whole spreading zombie guts on ourselves? Maybe we should do that this time to make sure we aren't caught."

If I were trying to survive and make sure those closest to me survived I'd take the extra 5 minutes whenever necessary to make sure I did these little things, like gut a zombie and drape their innards over me and my people, which were PROVEN to improve survival chances in those situations by orders of magnitude.

Like when Shane and that guy had to go get the medical thing from the FEMA station at the highschool to save Carl after he was shot at Hershel's ranch in season 2. They should have been plastered with Zombie guts and then no problem. Instead one of them died (I guess it was to further the story but still, this is dumbass shit, their lives don't HAVE to be as risky as they make it out to be).

That's good news, at least.

I think it's a fairly realistic approach to not have too many longer ranged melee weapons readily available; it's not as if you can head on over to your local Cabela's and pick up a spear or javelin, after all. Sure, weapons of this nature can be constructed...but, they tend to gravitate toward readily available weaponry.

Bullets aren't the easiest things to come by and guns are loud in general, which means they're stuck with either bows or melee weapons. There aren't too many combat-ready swords kicking around in Georgia, so they're stuck with blunt clubs, machetes or large knives.

They've kinda already gone down the "cure" path...twice. Heading down that path a third time would feel just as redundant as their current one.

The Walking Dead - in both forms - is suffering because they're running out of compelling things to do with the characters and story. There are only so many times they can repeat the cycle of running into a group of evil people, escaping, finding some semblance of safety only to encounter the next group of evil people.
Iíd agree in theory. But that was the entire premise of the walking dead from the start. It never ends. The point was that there is no point.

Thereís budget constraints and time constraints that keep them from being as migratory as people would like. If they were hitting up new locations in every episode than it would look like Hercules in terms of set quality.
