Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales - 37 Minute Gameplay Walkthrough Video

Click on the Headline for the Video.

Quote:
Thronebreaker is a single player role-playing game set in the world of The Witcher that combines narrative-driven exploration with unique puzzles and card battle mechanics. Crafted by the developers responsible for some of the most iconic moments in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the game spins a truly regal tale of Meve, a war-veteran queen of two Northern Realms — Lyria and Rivia. Facing an imminent Nilfgaardian invasion, Meve is forced to once again enter the warpath, and set out on a dark journey of destruction and revenge.

What a fucking farce it's just a fucking low budget attempt to push their fucking gwent game because they fucked it horribly with that update a few months back.

This is no etherlords 2. GTFO CD.

I would not mind a budget game in the Witcher Universe. I just don't care about card games. I dig Geralt alot. Maybe try something that is not a card game staring a different Witcher. I think there is 5 or 6 witcher schools or clans or whatever. Each with at least a handful of its own witchers.

How incredibly boring. I am no player of gwent but I'm confused why the game wasn't obviously over when the player's hand could have easily overpowered the AI's forces before drawing every.damn.card in the deck.

Card based video games suck. Can't stand them.

As someone who actually LOVED the Gwent game from Witcher 3, I am stoked that I get a fancier, flashier version with a SP game separate from the MP Gwent that I don't care at all about!

Yaaaay! Someone remembers "Etherlords II"!!! Of all the PC games I've ever worked on, that one was the only one I played all the way through in my spare time. It was SUCH an excellent tactics game, and it worked beautifully without the hundreds of random cards that "Magic: The Gathering" required...

"Thronebreaker" and "Gwent", though... I don't know. To me, these games feel somewhat... hollow, for lack of a better term. They remind me of the "Yu-Gi-Oh!" games as depicted in the TV show: Throw out one card after the other, and lose them just as quickly. It's literally "by the numbers".

It's almost timeless I find too. I replayed it a few years ago and went all the way to the end. It's simplistic compared to now but if they remade it I would totally play it. It's too bad. I played Gwent a lot in witcher 3 but to play it just by itself it is not that fun.

despite all your rantings the game seems to score pretty damn well, less for gameplay, more for story, too pricey for my taste but one day should be worth checking out.
