The X-Men don't require Wolverine, y'know.

They apparently do if they want to make money.

I'm kidding of course. I grew up with X-Men comics and bought into the whole explosion of X comics in the early 90s. Eventually I grew to feel that the stories and even some of the characters were a bit tired and overrated. I flat out got tired of Chris Claremont's writing for Wolverine and hated the character for years afterwards. So I'm not sure if these movies should be aimed at someone like me or not. All I know is that I totally bought into Hugh Jackman's portrayal of Wolverine and Patrick Stewart's Xavier, especially in Logan. And the exact opposite was true of pretty much everyone else in the cast. Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique is borderline embarrassing. McAvoy as Xavier is fine but not standout in my opinion. Overall, I find the X-Men franchise to be boring these days and that's not what should be said of a superhero franchise.
