I sure hope this thing doesn't suck. Sure seems like Sony screwed it up royally. Can't wait for my pre-order!

I'd want it, but purely for nostalgic reasons. I wouldn't play any of these games again in a serious fashion, so I'm not in any hurry to pick up the PlayStation Classic at its 100-Euro asking price. That said, I'm not playing any games on my SNES Mini either, and I don't regret that purchase at all. I guess this is one of those instances where I can point at my sigfile: Sometimes, just owning an item is enough to make a person happy.

Well to be fair there's a collector for everything. However they obviously aren't making these items only for collectors, they want people to use it.

My question was more of a "Who in their right mind would pay that much money to play this pathetic offering?"

I guess it depends on how important 100 bucks is to the person that buys it. 100 bucks isn't much to me so thank you Sony. I know I am the loner here!

Aren't almost half (9) of the games on it the slower PAL versions too? Why? What possible reason could there be to use them? I mean, this whole thing just smacks of half baked ideas.

Does it matter to people who aren't speed runners? I don't know if it's true, but aren't we talking seconds over an hour?

Well I'd say it's a smoother overall experience (50 frames vs 60), but perhaps that only matters to speed runners.

The bigger question is why use the PAL versions at all?

Library is disappointing. Most of these games won't hold up well over age.

Oh man, the more I hear about this thing the more laughable it becomes.
