No movie this weekend for me, but I'll be heading out over and over coming up in February for LEGO Movie 2, Alita and Happy Death Day 2U (Daughter wants to see that last one).

I did a bit of a double-take seeing Serenity on the upcoming Box Office list. I liked the Firefly wrap-up, but it was kind of a low earner for a big screen reprise. I clicked on it to make sure and of course it's some other movie with the exact same name, not even a reboot or remake. Meh.

Did anyone see the first Happy Death Day? It looks like it would be fun and amusing.

I saw it in the theater.

It was just like it looks, a Groundhog Day slasher. It wasn't bad for what it was, but it was really something that would have been great if it had been Rated R and was only good as Rated PG-13. Some boobs and gore might have elevated it to kind of a classic.

It was a teen movie and I was taking the teens to see it and they loved it and want to see the sequel.

If the demo is anything to go by Resident Evil 2 is already cemented as GOTY. Holy shit was a fantastic game, I haven't been this excited about a game in ages!

The first one is fun to watch, the Groundhog Day concept is fun to play with. My only problem was that it is PG13. PG13 horror films are usually aimed at teens, but this one was still okay. Between Happy Death Day 2U and Alitta Battle Angel I'll easily pick Happy Death Day. Alitta looks terrible.

Ghost in the Shell x James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez sounds like shit.


The only thing Robert Rodriguez has made that I like is Sin City, and James Cameron makes (subjectively) good sequels. Alitta irritates me.

James Cameron is overhyped IMO. The first Terminator was awesome as hell. T2 was worse due to the screaming teenage boy, and making the T-800 less cool. Aliens was only half as good as Alien. So it was still good, but Alien is 10x better. True Lies was good. Titanic was titanic, who cares. He wishes and hopes that Avatar can become his own Star Wars. Except who the F cares about Avatar.


I actually like James Cameron, but my God he is wildly overrated.
