Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition Coming To Steam Later This Month

Game Informer has word, via the Beamdog March 9th Livestream, that March 27th will be the release date for Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition on Steam.

Quote:
During a developer livestream, Beamdog (who have been enhancing and re-releasing various CRPGs like Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate, and Icewind Dale over the last few years) announced, among other things the release date for their enhanced edition of Neverwinter Nights: March 27.

Beamdog also announced they will continue to update and patch the game, and add new content and expand the modding toolset. Finally, the company mentioned that while it doesn't have any plans to bring the game to Switch, the idea "is something that is appealing to us."

Man i loved this game, played it so many times. I remember micro-planning my characters for abilities feats, we even played it over LAN a bunch. Probably has aged horribly but i'm definitely going to pay for it.

The great one returns!

I don't care what anyone else thinks. I had more fun playing this game than any Baldur's Gate game.

The side stories, the music, GOD THE MUSIC, and the voices. Loved this game.

The only problem is I bought it like 5 different times already. I think the latest collection I have is Diamond. Or is it something newer?

I think people forget the only good campaign was the user created one where it started you out as a ranger and it was tailored for it and you FELT like you were role playing towards a story that wasn't generic. Unless that comes back this is gonna be baf.

I believe that Diamond is the last release and contains all of the official addons, extra adventures, etc.

I played the HELL out of this back in the day. Since the story in expansiosn (Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark) are one continuous adventure, I was able to play through all of it, from level 1 to epic, with some friends. Man, that was a blast.

Not really convinced that an "Enhanced" edition is really warranted, though. It doesn't need any add-ons or patches to run on modern PCs, etc.

Some of the comparison shots are good. If they made an optional turnbased combat mode I would be all over it.

Didn't the original release include the ability to enable turn-based?
