Weekend Gamer: What are you playing?

Rain in the valley - 2.25 inches so far today... Mind you, in Phoenix the yearly average is 7 inches. What are you playing?

Currently playing Assassin's Creed III Liberation on the Vita. But this weekend I'll be playing

Assassin's Creed Odyssey (PC)
Dead by Daylight (PC)
Black Ops 4 (XB1)
Forza Horizon 4 (PC)

Kind of fell off from Shadow of the Tomb Raider, but still plan to get back to it. Really enjoying the hell out of Ass Creed Odyssey. It's contending for GOTY for me.

Finishing up my second playthrough on Spider-Man and chipping away on my first play through on the new Tomb Raider. TR is... fun enough. I suppose? Just can't hold my interest when I have more exciting games to play.

Just moved to Tempe a few months ago, from New England. It was nice to see actual weather after that scorched earth hellscape of a summer I just endured. Here's hoping we get MOAR RAIN! Or at the very least, that the cooler temps continue.

I am about 54 hours into Assassin's Creed: Odyssey (PC) and I am still not tired of it. By about 40 hours I was done with Origins, but Odyssey adds some many quality of life changes that really make it fun. The first being, naval combat/exploration is now a part of the standard game, rather than as missions that you played on the side. This is akin to how Black Flag was a complete breath of fresh air. There is something about finding and exploring islands and getting into naval combat that is just such a nice diversion from all the walking, running and horseback riding you do in the game.

Second, the mercenaries system has been improved. Unlike Origins where there were a set number of bounty hunters that had set levels, Odyssey continually builds new mercenaries as others are killed off or made members of your crew. Mercenaries are also more organic to the game world, not only showing up and being total fucking badasses as your bounty increases, but also randomly moving about the game world. And once you find them, you can hunt them down at your leisure and discretion.

I also like Kassandra a lot, both in terms of her looks (dem arms) but also in her voice acting and how Alexios/Kassandra are written into the game world. Being a mestios just seems more natural than the medjay of Origins allowing for much more organic and sharper dialogue between the Kassandra/Alexios and the NPCs.

I'm just starting my weekend now... Long week!

I'll be playing some Forza Horizon 4, and some classics on my Sega Genesis.

I tried Odyssey on the PC and my system couldn’t handle it. It will have to wait for a discount for a pick-up. I’m still thinking that I’m going to try to get Shadow of War on Black Friday.

There are a few titles I’ve missed over the years and I hope to snag at least 2 - 3 things on Black Friday. I’m going to try to eBay some of my junk between now and then so I can kinda splurge when the sales are going.

I did Heroes of the Storm all night Friday and most of the day and night on Saturday. Saturday night I started to play some Black Ops. I like the 5 v 5 Specialist mode, that was pretty cool just playing against the bots. You get a lot of kills that way and you get to use all the specialist tools.

Today I think I’ll play some more Black Ops, trying out the 5v5 specialist mode online and also doing some more Control. After that I’ll go back to either Spider-Man, The Witcher 3 or Dragon’s Dogma. I’m having trouble getting started on Witcher 3. Anything with a ton of depth I always kinda drag my feet getting into it and then later I just dive in for weeks.

I’m also considering going back to Two Worlds II on the PS3 and perhaps some Dead Space 3, what with the 10th anniversary of Dead Space being this weekend.

I heard you got a code for Black Ops IIII. I think this is the first year that they didnít sent out physical copies of Call of Duty. I kinda miss it, even though the code is a lot more convient since you donít need the disc.

I managed to get them to send me another code, Kinda cheesy asking for one after you got one, but I was still thinking that my physical copy just got stolen or something. Heh.

Played about 8 hours of Blackout and i did enjoy myself. I made into the top 15 about 5 times. I treat it like a stealth game, so yea, not a lot of kills but the challenge is just staying alive. Not sure how long it will stick with me. Played a few rounds with the nephew and we made it to number 4. That was FUN. So maybe most enjoyed with friends/family. I’ll get around to MP eventually I am sure.
