In regards to Xbox backwards compatibility, can someone clarify if it’s only on select games. Can you play every single original Xbox game on the xbox one with the physical copy?

Only select Xbox OG and Xbox 360 games are playable on Xbox One and those same games will be playable on Xbox Series X. It sounds like they'll get more games added when the Series X is released. Developers have to sign off on games to be backward compatible.

This is where im at. I cant sit at a desk anymore, feels silly.

I don't know why people just don't hook a PC to their tv and use a wireless mouse and kb, with an xbone controller. Its a bit weird at first but you get used to it. Ive been doing it for about 10 years.

Consoles, PC, Pi. Its all here on one screen....Now if there was just something good to play. Guess ill go grind some GT Sport.

I use controller still (unless its a better keyboard/mouse game), and get 144mhz refresh, up to 144 frames, on a 1440p Monitor that is 32 inches. More than happy with that. Nice comfy chair to kick back in, too.

Not saying there isn't a place for consoles. It's just...personally I get the most out of my PC by a mile. Then the Switch for true lounging gaming.

Max FPS is a bit redundant these days once you get 70/80+. What I find more important is a minimum of at least 60fps.

I've had a computer in the front room for years mounted next to the screen (Intel NUC). Gaming machine upstairs. SmartTV? I see little point in crappy apps. (I could connect my phone for better apps if needed).

4K gaming? As soon as most games hit a minimum of 50/60fps with medium to max quality, THEN we're talking. At the moment it's just far too much cash for not a brilliant return.

Have done this for a couple years. 4K OLED (Curved), 65", PC gaming rig - 1080Ti (soon to be replaced by a 2080Ti). I've used a Razer Turret kbd and mouse, and sometimes an XBOX One controller. For my gaming this suits me fine. I have not had an actual computer monitor for a long time now.

Same is used for my PS4 Pro

I go back and forth between really appreciating the power and customization possibilities behind PC gaming and the comfort and more social aspect of gaming on the couch (i.e. playing with my kids or some friends.) I also sometimes like the whole closed ecosystem model of console gaming at times too. They both have massive value depending upon my gaming moods. If I had unlimited time and cash, I'd very much be into both at the same time.

I have the same setup. Just got a 2080Ti. Had a 2080 SUPER but upgraded to TI. A Viper Ultimate wireless mouse that is just fucking awesome, and a plain jane wireless keyboard. I never have issues. I use the controller on third person games like Dark Souls, etc.. Also Destiny 2. I have played that game for so long on a gamepad that it just feels better to me. Sit back in my recliner and chill. Love it. I cant do a desk anymore. Especially since I sit at one all day in my office for work.

Same.... I tried the whole hook up PC to TV thing but the experience was just poop. So I game on high powered consoles.

Shield TV?

I pick up a controller, navigate my games and power them with my PC running 4k laid back just like my consoles, actually scratch that, most of my console games are on a disk still so it requires less effort to game, laying down, using my PC.

Yeah, I still go to my computer to play MMOs or is the TV is in use, but it isn't like you have to choose between the convenience of a console or the power of a PC anymore.

I also messed with that for a bit, but it wasn't as good an experience as a console. So for PC gaming I just have my desk positioned in a precise way so my TV is in view as well. My wife and I mainly are in the game room anyways, so it's perfect. I can scoot over to the couch if needed, but usually am at the desk on the gaming chair. Best of both worlds. If I have kids I understand this will all go away, but as of now (and the last 7 years) it's perfect.

A standing desk might make it better, but I just don't like being at a desk. Plus it removes me from the whole family environment. Not that that is a bad thing sometimes.

I have considered doing PC to my TV, but I would need to do a new case, and at that point, I might as well update hardware, and I should probably upgrade to all SSD across all my drives, etc etc and I am too lazy for that hassle right now. High frame rates are nice, but I feel like with age I see it as diminishing returns.

PCs biggest selling point to me is being able to generally run games you own forever, apart from when I run into OS compat issues and I swear off playing the game because I don't need the headache. But consoles are getting better there and ideally will stay that way. I do seem to prefer the pick up and play couch based nature of consoles as of late. The beefier Pro and One X have helped close the gap for me enough and I can still jump on my PC when I need to play something like Bladerunner. Spending less than I will on a video card for a PC is enticing.

The trashcan design is incredibly efficient for thermals and noise. It looks kinda dumb, though the Corsair One / XBOX rectangle helps a ton but it is a functional design.

To each his own. I think it's the best looking console since the TG16.
