Destiny 2 Xbox One X And PS4 Pro Patches Are Coming

GameSpot has the story.

Quote:
Destiny 2 is getting updated to take advantage of the power of the Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro, developer Bungie announced today. Bungie will update both games to support the new consoles on December 5, which is the day that Destiny 2's Curse of Osiris expansion launches. December 5 is also the start-date of Destiny 2 Season Two.

Bungie's blog post announcing the updates does not go into a lot of detail about what players can expect in terms of upgrades or enhancements on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro, only to say you'll see "stunning gameplay with high dynamic range lighting." Additionally, there will be "adaptive 4K resolution" on PS4 Pro and regular 4K on Xbox One X.

"If you're migrating to these new consoles, or already have, we'll make it worth your investment," Bungie said.

I already sold my copy of Destiny 2 on Ebay. I just didn't have much fun playing it. Kinda like The Division I had some fun with it for about a week and that was about it. Oh, but The Division was a mess on PC at release I remember.

My review unit of Destiny 2 came with the DLC, so I will hang onto it (it’s a code anyway that I coudln’t sell) and get some more good hours in as they roll out some of the other content.

It does seem like I spent less time playing Destiny 2 at launch than Destiny 1 at launch, I hope they really bring out some goodies in the future expansions to make it worth it.

Hell yeah, a needed mic drop for the 1X. I was so scared that Sony had bought parity between the versions along with the content, and that is why Bungie was keeping mum on it.

I just picked up a new Bravia and the game already looks gorgeous in an increased colorspace, so I can't wait to see it running 4k native as well.

Not gonna happen with the base consoles running at 30fps.

It would be nice if Bungie did actually ramp up performance or graphics on the PS4 Pro and pushed it to it's limits. I would take 60 FPS over 4k support.

That being said I'm also playing on PC with 1440p and 144 FPS, all eye candy set to Ultra and it's an amazing looking game.

Here is a video with some of the eye candy recorded at 4k, it's not game play, it's just showing what an excellent job Bungie did with level design and artwork. They should carry some of that over to the more powerful consoles also.

I'm in the same boat, though I still have my copy.

Lol, The Division on PC was a total disaster. I ended up using the DLL Hook cheats because everyone else was, and it was the only way I had a chance to survive or be competitive. But, once I started cheating, any fun that I was having with that game totally disappeared. The devs refused to acknowledge that cheating was rampant.
