My all time favorite: Shadow of the Beast 1 Amiga soundtrack, which you can hear in all its glory if you buy the Shadow of the Beast remake for PS4 and then play the original Amiga version that is emulated to perfection inside the game. GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!!!

My second favorite might just be Sleeping Dogs soundtrack... "Contact" is probably my favorite rap song of all time. Oh and let's not forget PGR3, I think, with its electro-industrial selections.

So many great soundtracks in driving/racing games. I remember hearing Van Halen in Gran Turismo 4 and being blown away!

No time to watch the video right now, but I regularly listen to my soundtrack CDs (or rather, the ripped MP3s): "Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together"! "Turrican II" on Amiga (my nominee for "best overall game soundtrack ever")! Many "Final Fantasy" games! "Shenmue"! "Jet Set Radio (Future)"! Oh, oh, and: "LOCOROCO"! I love the second game, but the first soundtrack was amazing! I mean, amazinger.

And, as a total dark horse: "Space Bunnies Must Die!" Of course, that was all licensed music, but it fit the game perfectly...

Over the past 10 years, I've been listening to video game music way more than i listen to regular music. Some of it is really good, and what isn't so good is still alright because there are no goofy lyrics.

The original DOS Gravis version of Darksun Shattered Lands had a wonderful soundtrack and is one of my favorites. Certain tunes will be stuck in my head forever. Obviously Doom is near the top even though most songs are weird copies of well known metal groups from the 80s and 90s. Mark Morgan's Fallout music is to me the sound of Fallout and the new stuff by Inon Zur is cliched shit.

As for licensed stuff my first pick is Full Throttle. It was the one and only time I hunted down a music CD accompanying any game. Never heard of The Gone Jackals before and loved it. Next was Fear Factory in Carmageddon 1 and Iron Maiden in Carmageddon 2.

I remember that!! Under-rated RPG too.

And who can forget the funky soundtrack to Interstate '76!

My favorite recent soundtrack has been for the game Aqua Kitty, written by Electric Café (nod to Kraftwerk there). It's so good I've used the dynamic theme which has music from the game as my PS4 theme for something like 2 years straight.

Also for anyone who likes video game music that's not actually from a video game.... Anamanaguchi's Endless Fantasy album is just the best thing ever....

I was pretty impressed with the Bloodborne soundtrack. Cleric Beast, Ludwig the Accursed & the Holy Blade and Hail the Nightmare were just incredible.

Whoo, a Bing search...

I remember "The Neverhood" (though not its soundtrack in particular) - cool game with some annoying puzzles and a unique visual style. The main character always gave me an "Earthworm Jim" vibe...

Finally watched the video. Seeing that licensed soundtracks are permitted, I'll add the most obvious, pompous and arguably varied soundtrack I know (and own): "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City"

The Dig, a halfway decent adventure game but an AMAZING Score in the Star Trek Jerry Goldsmith Flair.

Yes, Terry Taylor did the soundtrack for The Neverhood and it's fun.

As for the Earthworm Jim vibes - both were created by Doug TenNapel. Sure, David Perry had a big hand in EWJ.

I'll throw a few in. Aside from the obvious ones like Zelda, or ones mentioned in the video, here are a few I loved over the years:
