Steam Summer Sale may run from June 22-July 5, according to Steamworks screenshots

PCGamesN has the story.

Quote:
Forget planning for the beach, itís time to get planning for the Steam Summer Sale. Thanks to screenshots from cavalier Steamworks users, we may see Valve running its seasonal sale from June 22 to July 5.

First posted by user deliteplays on the Steam subreddit and then corroborated by user Jelman21, Valve have communicated with Steamworks developers to inform them about the upcoming sale, in order for them to prepare deals and bundles ahead of time. While these dates were supposed to be confidential, it seems that Jelman21 did not get the message and decided to share the dates with the public.

As for how these dates got out, itís most likely thanks to users being added to Steam Developer groups after getting access to a gameís alpha or beta via Kickstarter. Once they are in one of these internal groups, they are privy to sensitive information like the dates of upcoming Steam sales.

I expect to buy as much this year as I did last year, as well...zip.

There's just not much in gaming right now that combines both my excitement and the right price. It's either too much and needs a price drop beyond what it's getting, or it's just not very intriguing or interesting to me.

I'll check in the first day of the sale and that will probably be it, especially since it will hit in the teeth of an amazing summer trip when I'll be busy enjoying time with the family.

I'm still eying X-COM 2, but know I'd rather own the inevitable upgrade version.

Nice. I'll be in the middle of my vacation at Lake George, NY for the whole duration of the sale.

Checking it once should be sufficient; I think they're still continuing the newer style of sale that forgoes stuff like flash sales and daily deals. The sale prices you see on the first day are what they'll be on the final day.

There hasn't been a really good Steam sale in about 2 years.
