I think what he is getting at is that the left ignores their anti-white bias for certain religions. His "white privilege" comment was meant as sarcasm. Here's how I read it:

It's really easy to mis-interpret written things over spoken things, I've had that happen MANY times. It's almost like you have to be extremely verbose, which I try to do as much as possible these days. However, sometimes I leave messages as (what I think is) an obvious joke and people take me seriously which I find to be very amusing.

This.
I've become pretty tired of the racism and anti-Israel shit that has cropped up but besides that I haven't shifted much from the Constitutional Conservationism I picked up a couple years ago.
As usual my non-right leaning topics are still the social safety net. And it is pretty fucked up. I think people do have a right, of sorts, to healthcare and I think it needs to be unfucked in a hurry.
I don't think the government is the one to do it because they are even worse! They just want to take over and pay everyone's bills but that isn't the answer. Fixing the medical industry from top to bottom is a big job the Government isn't up for.
For example. A few years ago I got a CPAP machine. I didn't really use it so I ended up putting it back in a bag, I've even moved twice since then. At the time I called the issuing company and my insurance company to make sure I was fully off the hook for paying on it (they are pretty expensive).
This year some company that I guess rented the machine slammed me with a bill for over $2000 which they sent at the end of December with due date by the end of January for 12 months of the machine at $150 a month and a monthly "machine adjustment" of $50.
I haven't even unpacked the machine from the moving box since my last move in December of 2017! If I had insurance they could track down and bill they probably would have billed them and I'd never know these guys were scamming someone for close to $2500!
This is totally fucked up and Medicare for All, public option, none of these will fix it.

Pelosi: You must postpone the State Of The Union in our own Capital, there are too many security risks!
Also Pelosi: What? You are preventing my trip to some of the most dangerous countries in Africa and Asia?
Like him or hate him, you have to admit this is probably the most entertaining time in politics of all time (at least in my lifetime).

OT but if you got a CPAP machine for sleep apnea, definitely consider using it. Takes a month+ sometimes to get used to, but you'll find lotsa health benefits. Talking from experience here.

lol yeah I laughed my ass off at that, she won't sit down to negotiate yet blames the shut down solely on Trump, while she wants to spend tax payer money to jet set all over the world and create a booze tab also on the tax payer's dime. Goes to show that California voters are fucking idiots. No offense Vallor, wasn't including you in that.

My apnea was nearly non-existent based on the take-home test (I didn't do a full in-hospital sleep study this time around) so it was mostly a precaution and the discomfort didn't seem worth it.
Maybe when something like this (a non-scam version) finally makes it onto the market I'll look back into it:

Quote:
*Speaker Pelosi used Air Force aircraft to travel back to her district at an average cost of $28,210.51 per flight. [editor note: she flies back to California nearly every weekend so... you do the math! - vallor]
More editor note: She has been in office since 1987... that's 40 freaking years. So she has potentially spent $40m or more tax payer bucks just traveling around and getting drunk with her buddies in congress.
*The average cost of an international CODEL is $228,563.33. Of the 103 Pelosi-led congressional delegations (CODEL), 31 trips included members of the House Speaker’s family.
*One CODEL traveling from Washington, DC, through Tel Aviv, Israel to Baghdad, Iraq May 15-20, 2008, “to discuss matters of mutual concern with government leaders” included members of Congress and their spouses and cost $17,931 per hour in aircraft alone. Purchases for the CODEL included: Johnny Walker Red scotch, Grey Goose vodka, E&J brandy, Bailey’s Irish Crème, Maker’s Mark whiskey, Courvoisier cognac, Bacardi Light rum, Jim Beam whiskey, Beefeater gin, Dewars scotch, Bombay Sapphire gin, Jack Daniels whiskey, Corona beer and several bottles of wine.
*According to a “Memo for Record” from a March 29—April 7, 2007, CODEL that involved a stop in Israel, “CODEL could only bring Kosher items into the Hotel. Kosher alcohol for mixing beverages in the Delegation room was purchased on the local economy i.e. Bourbon, Whiskey, Scotch, Vodka, Gin, Triple Sec, Tequila, etc.”
*The Department of Defense advanced a CODEL of 56 members of Congress and staff $60,000 to travel to Louisiana and Mississippi July 19-22, 2008, to “view flood relief advances from Hurricane Katrina.” The three-day trip cost the U.S. Air Force $65,505.46, exceeding authorized funding by $5,505.46.
|
A three day trip to Katrina area for 56 members cost $1,000 EACH. Think about that a second. 56 people thought this was the best time for them to go stomping around for 3 days and spend $334 each per day. They need to adopt the Wal-Mart and Amazon model who get rich, and stay rich, doing their fiduciary duty to their shareholders by staying in budget lodgings and flying coach to keep costs down. Not by spending more than many people make a week to traipse around for photo-ops.

Yea I was all health/smhealth until the doctor showed me that I was stressing out my cardio/vascular system by choking while I was sleeping roughly 60-70 times a night.
But yea if your apnea is on the light level, totally not worth being force fed air down your throat till your gag reflex goes away

Obviously you're not my favorite person around here but I don't wish sleep apnea on anyone, that has to be brutal when all you're trying to do is get some rest. Glad you found a solution that sounds like it is helping you.

Thanks, I'd probably be less of a cunty asshole if the combination of apnea, sciatica and general bullshit from astrocytoma recovery didn't cause me so much discomfort all the time

Lose weight. Stop eating/drinking several hours ahead of sleeping. No screens a few hours before sleep. Consistent time each night.
Most problems solved.

Yeah, the double-whammy of stimulant (wakey wakey!) along with diuretic (pee time!) ruins sleep...
...and makes this forum sound like a gerontology unit at a hospice facility, lol.

One of my buddies is over 350lbs he has to sleep with a sepap. He's been going through a tough time with his life lately and hasn't been eating much, he's now sleeping without his sepap. Its almost always the food/weight
I think you can eat before bed, just keep those carbs under about 50g's. But yeah no eating at all would be best.

Excess weight is involved in so many health issues. Bad back, arthritis, diabetes, heart, gout, sleep disorders, and on and on.
This is why I get up before 5 am every weekday to run a few miles. Trying to avoid turning into a lard puddle. Used to do 5 miles in 25 minutes. Now I'd be lucky at 40 mins lol.

Climate models vs. Climate Reality.
Quote:
The work is a straightforward demonstration that climate models project a greater rise in the global average temperature than has been experienced, one avoids the pitfalls of other types of comparisons and is immune from claims of cherry-picking, as it includes all time periods since 1950 ending in the present. Accompanying this demonstration of model infidelity, we present a case that a major part of the reason that climate models run too hot is that the earth’s equilibrium climate sensitivity is substantially less than portrayed by the climate models. We will revisit this at the end of this paper.
Everyone by now is familiar with the “pause” or “slowdown” in the rate of global warming that has taken place over the past 20 years of so, but few realize is that the observed warming rate has been beneath the model mean expectation for periods extending back to the mid-20th century—60+ years.

I have no idea how to paste tweets into this board but here's one from fricking Geraldo:
Quote:

At what point in fairness-after 2 years do Americans of good will say enough already? If the #SpecialCounsel had collusion don’t you think we would have heard it by now? This is history’s longest running smear job. Free @realDonaldTrump Reflect. Negotiate. Open the government.
|
When this guy becomes the voice of reason you know the MSM and Dems have jumped the shark. That said I actually think Geraldo is pretty well in the center. He says good and bad things, some I disagree with (because they are dumb) but others seem pretty right on the money.
