Pretty much this. I'll still give it a watch.

Just the facts. A quiet place was in writing development since 2013. Tim's The Silence was scheduled to release in 2018 but is marked as worked on since 2015. So. Take it for what you think I'm watching regardless but just to clear the air of is it a rip off etc. etc. they kind of coincide. Maybe they were both inspired by the same thing somewhere.

Armageddon and Deep Impact were both movies about Asteroids heading to the earth but giant rocks hitting the earth kinda petered out quick.

These things come in waves. It seems like we're in the middle of a "sensory deprivation" wave of movies now that A Quiet Place has done well.

Deaf, Dumb, or Blind (Bird Box) is the new hotness, lets see if it has the staying power of the Zombie or if it flops like the asteroid hitting the earth genre.

#Metoo

An old friend and I went to see Mercury Rising, another Bruce Willis movie (way more boring) which released just a month or two before Armageddon. I watched the whole thing and at the end I was totally confused and asked "Where is the meteor?"

Now every time I see her 20+ years later at some eventually she will slip "where's the meteor" into the conversation.

Looks fine. Not too hyped or impressed, but I leave room for it surprising me and being good. Wait, the director made Mortal Kombat Annihilation. And the first Annabelle.

Uhh, I don't have high expectations for this one after all. Hopefully the script was amazing.

I’ll watch just about any original movies that Netflix puts out. The price is right and I’ve seldom been disappointed.

Along those lines, the OA Season 2 is up on Netflix and so is The Santa Clarita Diet Season 3 along with a Bonny & Clyde movie called the Highwayman starring Wood Harrelson and Kevin Costner.

If you don’t think your Netflix account is paying for itself, you aren’t paying attention. I still have to finish Umbrella Academy, which I’m not that impressed with, but it kills time while I’m browsing the web or playing games.

Knightfall Season 1 is also up there too. Mark Hamill is in Season 2, which I probably won’t end up seeing till it hits Netflix next year.

Didn't care much for Deep Impact, mostly because the trailer pretty much gave it all away as well as showing all the good CGI scenes. Not to mention that one part where it seems to be building up to this high budget CGI sequence but it just cuts to Morgan Freeman announcing that the budget had run out and he was going to just explain what you would've seen if they were able to afford it (not literally but it sure felt like it when I was sitting in the theater at the time). Lets not forget Volcano and Dante's Peak in that one volcano movie period (personally hated Volcano, it was just such a stupid, poorly written movie).

Missing a lot of them, or low expectations? Because amongst the gems are a whole lot of turds, lol. Man, do some of them stink up a storm.

Low expectations. It's free. You can't go wrong with free. Or mostly free.
